Belonging does not require self-abandonment.

People-pleasing may keep the peace for a momentโ€”but too often, it costs us our voice.

We say yes when we mean no.
We stay quiet when something matters.
We prioritize someone elseโ€™s comfort over our own truth.

Real belonging has room for boundaries, disagreement, honestyโ€”and the fullest version of you.

So ask yourself:

You can care deeply about others without abandoning yourself in the process.

Change is hard enough. Please donโ€™t make people guess their way through it. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Iโ€™m bringing back my conversation with Carajane Searcy Moore about one of the most overlooked pieces of successful organizational change: ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฑ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€.

Theyโ€™re often expected to translate the vision, answer questions, create alignment, AND support their teamsโ€”while navigating uncertainty themselves.

One reminder from our conversation says it all:

Clarity matters. Clear expectations matter. And when we donโ€™t have the clarity we need, every one of us can lead by asking for it.

If youโ€™re navigating change at work, or simply trying to communicate more effectivelyโ€”there are so many practical nuggets in this conversation.

๐Ÿคš Raise your hand if you ever go to your phone to avoid a potentially awkward interaction or if you find yourself going to your phone rather than being fully present with people.

It's Thought-Provoking Thursday and time for another Rosie-in-my-Pocket...

In our 24/7 connected world, it is so easy to fill the spaces in our day with the digital; but there's a cost:

โžก๏ธ The more in our devices we are, the more our capacity to see and notice others diminishes

Every time we reach for our devices, we miss an opportunity to form a meaningful connection or even be a small bright spot in someone's day

When we go to our devices when we're with friends, family or loved ones, we send a message that they aren't that important or that whatever is on our phones matters more than they do (๐˜ช.

I'm definitely guilty of this too. ๐Ÿซค

Sometimes it's only when circumstances force us to not be on a device and interact with others that we can see the contrast.

In invite you to join me in intentionally creating "no-phone time" in your week to prioritize human connection over technology and notice what opens up for you and your relationships.

Have you already made changes with your relationship with your phone? If so, what did you do and what difference has it made?

If not, what are you going to put into practice that will be meaningful for you, and what difference are you hoping it will make?

I had such a great conversation with Glenn Llopis on his ๐—˜๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—–๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜€ about something I believe we urgently need to rethink:

This conversation gets to the heart of the work I explore in my book, ๐˜๐˜ถ๐˜ต๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ-๐˜—๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜“๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ด๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ฑ: our outer leadership skills matter, but our inner operating system drives how effectively we can use them - especially when change, pressure, and uncertainty hit.

I revisited my podcast interview with performance coach and leadership development expert, David Gorsage, and it feels every bit as relevant today.

Not doing more. Not achieving more. And definitely not trying to become superhuman.

It starts with the ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ด๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฒโ€”getting honest about the stories running in the background, noticing where we may be getting in our own way, and choosing one intentional step toward who we want to become.

In this article, I share my reflections and favorite takeaways from our conversation, and why they matter just as much today.

Because extraordinary leadership isnโ€™t built all at once.

Itโ€™s built one intentional step at a time. โœจ

๐Ÿ‘‰ How consistent and deliberate are you when it comes to creating and leveraging meaningful systems to support you in showing up as the courageous leader you want to be in your life?

It's Thought-Provoking Thursday and time for another Rosie-in-my-Pocket...

In Atomic Habits, James Clear writes that "we don't rise to the level of our goals; we fall to the level of our systems."

โžก๏ธ Neuroscientists estimate that we are on auto-pilot 90-95% of the time. This means our subconscious programming is in the driver's seat.

โžก๏ธ Even with deep transformation work to upgrade our inner programming / inner operating system, we can fall back on old patterns - especially in times of stress.

โžก๏ธ Creating and actively leveraging meaningful systems to fall back on when our humanity tries to get the best of us is a critical part of sustainable change - yet too often overlooked.

The most effective leaders I know are highly self-aware and know what systems they need in place (i.e., reminders, visuals, structures, processes) to help them not fall back into old patterns and remind them of who they want to be in this world.

It's not weakness. It's being smart and effective.

What systems do you have in place that help you show up as the courageous, future-ready leader you want to be?

08/20/2026

Hard conversations? Yep. Theyโ€™re a human thing. ๐Ÿ˜‰

At work, at home, and everywhere in between, discomfort can make us avoid, over-explain, get defensive, or shut down.

The good news? We can get better at navigating it.

๐—–๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜€ ๐—Ÿ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ฝ is about learning practical tools to help you stay grounded, get curious, and show up more like the person you want to beโ€”even when things get messy.

And you definitely donโ€™t need โ€œleaderโ€ in your title to belong here. You just need to be human. ๐Ÿฉท

If you want more confidence, language, and practice for the conversations that matter, come join us for our upcoming

Overachieving can look a lot like leadershipโ€”until it starts running you.

When your worth gets tied to how much you accomplish, โ€œdoing moreโ€ can quickly become exhaustion, resentment, and lousy boundaries.

The goal isnโ€™t to become less driven. Itโ€™s to build a healthier relationship with achievement.

Thatโ€™s part of the work we do through coaching at Salveo Partnersโ€”helping leaders uncover the Faulty Programs beneath their behaviors so they can lead with greater clarity, confidence, and intention.

Before you say yes to one more thing, ask:

How do we help people recognize the extraordinary within themselves?

Thatโ€™s at the heart of my conversation with David Gorsage.

David brings decades of wisdom as a performance coach and leadership development expert, along with a deeply human belief that every person has unique abilities, purpose, and the capacity to make an impact.

This replay is full of practical tools for clearing out the โ€œhead trash,โ€ strengthening self-awareness, developing others, and taking the next step toward becoming a better version of ourselves.
