We rolled the dice & took our first trip ever to Baton Rouge Raceway this past Friday, 9/11. Hotlaps & qualifying were originally scheduled to be combined. In Taylor’s first ever laps around the track, he was able to go quick time. During the official qualifying session, he would back it up with another quick time, setting him up for P1 in the first heat race. We adjusted too much for the heat, resulting in a tight race car & running P2. After reeling back some changes for the feature event, Taylor started 3rd & was able to drive to 2nd, then mount a charge for the lead in the closing laps, but ultimately ended up finishing 2nd. We excitedly took a 2nd place finish at a track we’ve never been to until Friday!

After a win at Deep South on August 1st and a battery failure, resulting in a DNF at Needmore Speedway on August 8th… we made the decision this past weekend to make our first-ever trip to Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, MS… a track we had never been to.

With 21 cars signed in and national points on the line, Taylor started the night by qualifying 2nd, barely missing the pole. Unfortunately, not knowing this track’s rules and very limited explanation of their rules at the driver’s meeting, Taylor went on, after his final qualifying lap, to miss the infield turn-in and make another slow lap around the track, looking for where to turn in at. He was penalized for this mistake, docked his fastest lap time and was made to start 4th in the feature. We completely respect not bending track rules.
During lap 1 of the feature, Taylor jumped the cushion & fell to 8th. After numerous cautions and working hard to keep his nose clean, he made his way back towards the front. On a restart, he was able to pass for 3rd, and ready to mount a charge for 2nd. Unfortunately, after cleanly passing the 3rd place car, the 3rd place car would drive into Taylor’s right rear, destroying his RR tire and causing suspension damage, ending our night on lap 4 with a DNF. This was a very unfortunate way for CRUSA-points-racing to go, but it was out of our control.

What a weekend it was for us! The crew ventured over to Blackwater Speedway for the $2500 to win 604 show. Taylor set fast time during qualifying. That put him starting on the pole of the main event, which was a barn burner between him & Colton Leyendecker. Between switching for the lead, dealing with lap traffic & changing lines the entire race, Taylor was able regain the lead with 2 laps to go. We hated the 79 crew had to pull off after, because the last 2 laps would have been as exciting as all of the rest! Taylor would go on to collect his highest paying win of $2600 after a $100 donation was made from a loyal track fan.

We feel overwhelmingly blessed, with nothing to do except thank The Good Lord! 🏁

Jones fresh off of the 2026 CRUSA Winter Shootout Series Championship, his having the best season of his career, and we'll talk about how that career started.

2️⃣ - AND we'll chat with Taylor Jarvis of Milton, FL, who just collected his seventh win of the 2026 season and his fourth win in a row this past weekend at Deep South Speedway. The 2025 Deep South Speedway CRUSA Late Model track champion currently sits fourth in the CRUSA National points with only 10 weeks remaining in the 2026 season. He is on track for his best; national points season yet with his previous best being 16th in 2010 and again in 2025.
