When this Subaru WRX commercial aired in 2002, everyone around me was playing Colin McRae Rally 2.0. A Nokia 3310 and AIM were our main communication tools, and Linkin Park’s ‘In the End’ was playing on every FM radio. It was awesome. - Admin 👴🏼

Conner Martell and co-driver Ross Whittock finish Overmountain Rally Tennessee in their substitute effort driving the Subaru WRX ARA25 open class car.

Conner had a great first rally performance in the O4WD Subaru WRX as he held P3 for six of the first seven stages and P2 on SS4. Dreams of finishing on the podium became out of reach when a untimely collision with a rock in a racing line damaged a wheel and caused a brake line issue on SS8.

Despite the finish, the pair earned season points for their efforts and the bragging rights that they were able to wear the iconic WR Blue and yellow colors this weekend.

“I can’t thank the Subaru team enough for having me in the seat this weekend,” Conner said. “It’s definitely not the finish we wanted but I think with how the weekend turned out, we put down some really good times and showed that the car is for sure capable.”

The team was excited to bring the ARA25 back into competition and entertain fans while driving with fierce competitors.

We look forward to competing at Lake Superior Performance Rally on October 9-10. Please continue to give team driver Travis Pastrana your support during his recovery.

😮 What a wild turn of events!

During the start of SS8, the Subaru WRX ARA25 made contact with a rock on the road, bending the rim and pinching the brake line, causing the brake fluid to leak.

Driver Conner Martell and co-driver Ross Whittock managed to plug the brake line and finish the stage as well as SS9.

Organizers would later cancel SS9 due to spectator problems, allowing Conner and Ross to transit back to service for repair. SS12 (Big Clifty 3) was also canceled to make time for the looming storm moving towards the area.

The crew is hard at work for the three remaining stages, including the new power stage SS11 (Weaver’s Bend 3) and the fan favorite, the Newport Super Special, left in the rally.
