Local Fox affiliate KTVU did a great segment on this year’s Dipsea race. They talked to several race luminaries including Diana and Tim Fitzpatrick along with race director Chris Knez.
We appreciate the time they put into producing this segment, which is attached for your viewing pleasure.

It's the 115th annual 7.4-mile run from Mill Valley to Stinson Beach, the oldest trail race in America.

The Dipsea Race is dedicated to preserving the history and traditions of America’s oldest trail race. As stewards of this historical legacy, we work to protect and care for the race and unique pieces of the races’ history, ensuring they can be appreciated by future generations.
Pictured here is a 1912 third-prize trophy awarded to Harold J. Beatty. It was recently donated back to the Dipsea Race after being used for years as a vase for dried flowers – and kept in nearly pristine condition! It is an honor to receive these treasures from the race.
If you have a Dipsea trophy you’d like to donate, we would be honored to help continue its story and preserve the legacy. Please contact us at [email protected] with any questions.

According to lore, the team title was the real focus of the Dipsea. More so even than the individual race. To that end, some would argue that the same holds true today.
This year, we had a new, all-female team absolutely dominate the Team title. Congrats Swoop Sirens on a job very well done!

The moment you’ve all been waiting for. It feels like the race isn’t fully complete until the posting of our annual race recap video.
Kudos to Tim Amyx and his production crew for another great job.

The Allan and Darryl Beardall Family Team Award is one of the more competitive trophies in the Dipsea race. It goes to the family team (duo) with the best combined finishing places.
This year’s Family Team Award went to the brother and sister team of Julia (3rd place) and Christopher Maxwell (47) for a combined score of 50. They narrowly edged out the father and son duo of Samuel Nickelsen (21st place) and Oliver (33rd). We are hoping the Nickelsen’s took consolation in the fact that they both were awarded Black Shirts!
