Infants and young children are transformed from being totally helpless in the water into confident, capable swimmers in weeks, not years.

My name is Lisa Essner, owner of CSS, and I am by certified Survival Swim Development Network. I have been teaching swim lessons in Cypress, Texas for several years. In September of 2020 we had the pleasure of moving to Gonzales, Louisiana. My husband and I have two children and we all enjoy recreational swimming and baseball/softball. My interest in becoming a swim instructor came after 15 years as a Respiratory Therapist in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Houston’s largest trauma center, where I dedicated my career to saving children’s lives. Each year, the number of drownings I was tending to seemed to be increasing and I soon realized that I could make a positive difference by helping to save a child’s life before they drowned, instead of after. I am looking forward to the opportunity to help your child learn survival swimming skills and enjoy many safe Summers for years to come!

September is National Preparedness Month and being prepared includes water safety. 💦

We prepare our children for so many “just in case” moments. Survival swim skills are another important layer of preparation, helping children learn how to respond if they unexpectedly enter the water.

Because the best time to prepare is before an emergency happens. 💙

Reaching the wall may look like a small step, but it’s an important water-safety skill! 💦

Practicing it repeatedly helps children learn where to go, how to grab on, and how to respond confidently if they ever enter the water unexpectedly. Repetition builds muscle memory and muscle memory can make all the difference in an emergency. 💙
