Do it scared. The only way to know for sure what the outcome will be is to not try in the first place.⚡️ Make your move.

Athlete Mental Health & Mindset - Author, Speaker & Coach
Let’s call out comparison versus competition for what it really is.
Yesss!!! The IOC is recommending routine mental health screenings for elite athletes.
“A consensus statement from the IOC states screening and monitoring mental health should be done at predefined points and after significant events, and also address training and competition factors.”
“While recognition of overt mental health disorders in elite athletes remains essential, situating athlete wellbeing within a dynamic continuum offers an additional framework for understanding the spectrum of psychological functioning in this population,” said the IOC in a statement published online in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
“For example, elite athletes may experience transient stress reactions related to competitions, to various temporary setbacks that are a normal and common part of elite athlete life, or to intense training periods.”
“Thus, there are important mental health considerations even if an athlete does not have a diagnosable disorder.”
This is exactly the kind of proactive system we need with all of mental health.

One acceptance speech stood out to me during the ESPYs.
Lauren Betts used one of the biggest stages in sports to remind athletes that mental health isn’t something to hide until you’re struggling. It’s something to care for throughout your career.
As someone who works with athletes, coaches, and teams, I believe conversations like this move us forward. They help normalize asking for support before stress turns into burnout, before confidence disappears, and before someone believes they have to handle everything alone.
Performance and mental wellness aren’t competing priorities. They support each other.
Thank you, Lauren, for using your voice.
What part of her message resonated with you most?
