When to break the rules about nationals…
Julia competed in her first warm-up show of the 2026 season and left the competition feeling unsure if she even belonged in the sport. She was the only person to compete in her age category, and she came in last place in open.
That warm up show was scheduled to help us determine if her physique would be ready for nationals. We came away, not knowing where her body truly stacked up for various reasons.
We continued.
We studied her category and focused on making changes we both knew needed to happen. This is where it pays to really understand your criteria and be realistic about what improvements are possible in a specific time frame. Julia was very diligent in her prep, posing practice, and so we headed to nationals 6 weeks later. She stood with plenty of great competition and came away placing 3rd in her class - an INCREDIBLE victory for anyone competing at that level!
This was a rare case where a region level show did not directly correlate with her potential at the next level. We went to nationals because Julia needed good competition, helpful judge feedback, and she absolutely looked the part.
Super proud of your resilience Julia! Thank you for trusting us with your prep! Congratulations on your placement! 🥳

How much time does it take to see progress?
The photos here show Jammie Bohn competing at NPC Universe in 2022 and again in 2026. In those four years, Jammie had several different phases that built not only this physique but a well rounded and healthy person.
She shifted toward a more whole food based diet, stepped away from tracking to learn how to eat intuitively, she experimented with high fat diets, recovered from surgery, improved pelvic floor and core control, and worked on recording her lifts to master her technique in the gym.
Typical bodybuilding prep? Not at all.
But it was specific to her and for her. Jammie was great about identifying where she saw problems and went to work making lifestyle and training changes. She did not try to be anyone else.
In the end, her physique is more muscular, stronger, and more balanced. But let’s not negate the other improvements that don’t get recognition on stage- including her mentality, her family life balance, and her internal health.
Well done Jammie in achieving so much and being willing to always evolve into your best self.
