Sometimes perspective isn’t quite the word. Claire Smith is a true living legend. CC Sabathia is a Hall of Fame player and even better person. This is life at MLB All-Star.

I didn’t make it to Yankee Stadium, but Citizen Bank Park had State Property in the building.
MLB All-Star in Philly is special.
The Players Alliance Community Catch took place right in the heart of Philly.
The Players Alliance, a player-driven nonprofit organization, continues its work to expand baseball access and opportunities for minority communities. Over 40 former players were on hand, including Board Members Curtis Ganderson and Edwin Jackson, as well as Willie Randolph, Daryl Boston, Lewis Brinson, Nick Heath, Christian Sepulveda, Nook Logan, and many more—special shout-out to .7 & for their organizational leadership. Ryan Howard’s relationship with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum runs deep. Long before Howard was a 3X All-Star and NL MVP, he was receiving tours from the legendary Buck O'Neil in Kansas City. He learned about the Negro Leagues legends and tried to take pieces of their game with him every season. Yesterday, Howard continued his steadfast support of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum by presenting a $20,000 check in support of the museum’s expansion effort. NLBM Director Bob Kendrick, a legend himself, spoke about Howard’s passion for the game and love for the museum. If you ever get the opportunity to visit the NLBM, it is a trip worth making. What REALLY happened when the Philadelphia Pythians, led by Octavius Catto, challenged the Olympic Ball Club 1869. This historic first documented match between black and white baseball teams took place on September 4, 1869, ending in the Pythians’ defeat, 44 to 23.
Special thanks to for his leadership, passion and education.
