"If you're about to do business with someone who has watched both Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi throughout their careers, ask the person one simple question: 'Who is the better player, regardless of who he/she support?'

If the person confidently tells you that Cristiano Ronaldo is the better player, immediately stop doing business with person. That person has criminal tendencies and is dishonest. He is not worthy of your trust because he can look you in the eye and tell you that white is black.

🚨 If Lionel Messi finishes as top scorer of the World Cup, he will be the 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐘𝐄𝐑 𝐈𝐍 𝐇𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘 to:

🥇 Win the Golden Boot after the age of 35.
🥇 Win a World Cup Golden Ball and Golden Boot in different tournaments.
🥇 Win the World Cup, Golden Ball and Golden Boot after turning 35.
🥇 Finish as a World Cup's top scorer more than 20 years after his World Cup debut.

‼️💣〽️Felipe Melo: “Messi missed a penalty, as had already happened to him in this edition of the World Cup. And at no point did he lose his composure. At no point did he stop doing what he does. He cried, he cried because of the emotion. What amazes me is that an athlete like him has such a strong mentality.

From missing another penalty to becoming one of the main figures responsible for Argentina’s HEROIC COMEBACK. He should be an example for us (Brazil). When we have that desire, that grit, and that ability to compete again, we will become strong once more. Argentina qualified in a memorable match.”

“And yes, for me, this debate is already over. We are talking about a 39-year-old athlete who is performing like a 25-year-old. That is Lionel Messi. People will tell me: ‘Come on, Felipe, you’re talking about an Argentine.’ It doesn’t matter. If he were Paraguayan, Argentine, Colombian, Italian, or Swiss, I would say the same thing. We have to put all that aside and talk about what is really happening. Stop, people. Stop, please. This is over. Messi is the best player of all time that I have ever seen play.”

“I didn’t watch Pelé. I watched Ronaldo Nazário, Neymar, Ronaldinho, Zinedine Zidane, and many others, but they were not better than Lionel Messi. I have to be honest. I say what I truly think; I don’t speak to please anyone. In my opinion, the greatest football player in history that I have seen play is Lionel Messi.”

“I am a huge fan of Cristiano Ronaldo; he is one of the greatest in history. Ronaldo Nazário was a joy to watch. Neymar, Ronaldinho, Zinedine Zidane… I also watched Diego Maradona. But, from the bottom of my heart, the truth is that Lionel Messi is the greatest player of all time that I have ever seen play. The greatest of all time.”

🚨👋🏾Emotions aside, let's TALK RULES!

𝘾𝙊𝙉𝘾𝙀𝙍𝙉𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙀𝙂𝙔𝙋𝙏𝙄𝘼𝙉 𝙁𝙊𝙐𝙇 𝙊𝙉 𝙇𝙄𝙎𝘼𝙉𝘿𝙍𝙊:

The Egyptian player, as can be seen, clearly steps on the foot of Lisandro and trips him. IFAB LAW 12 states:

"A direct free kick is awarded if a player commits any of the following offences against an opponent in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force: charges, jumps at, kicks or attempts to kick, pushes, strikes or attempts to strike (including head-butt), tackles or challenges, trips or attempts to trip." The case above is, therefore, quite clear. IT'S A FOUL ON LISANDRO.

𝘾𝙊𝙉𝘾𝙀𝙍𝙉𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙋𝙀𝙉𝘼𝙇𝙏𝙔 𝙎𝙃𝙊𝙐𝙏 𝙊𝙉 𝙎𝘼𝙇𝘼𝙃:

The Argentinean player won the ball before the contact, and concerning the contact, IFAB Law 12 states:

"Every player has a right to their position on the field of play. REMAINING in the path of an opponent (i.e. standing still) is not an offence.

Impeding the progress of an opponent means MOVING into opponent’s path to block, obstruct, slow down, or force a change of direction when the ball is not within playing distance of either player. This is penalised with a direct free kick if contact is made or an indirect free kick (no contact).

Therefore, if a player is STATIONARY and an opponent in possession of the ball runs into them, the defending player is not considered to have unfairly impeded the opponent’s progress (no offence)."

When we watch closely how the contact is produced, we realise that the Argentinean player did not move his leg towards Salah's leg. His leg was static and Salah fell into it. Consequently, NO FOUL according to IFAB LAW 12.

In conclusion, the decisions look cruel from Egypt's perspective because they had such a beautiful performance, BUT RULES ARE RULES.
