Gulf States PGA The Gulf States PGA is one of 41 PGA of America Sections. It includes all of Mississippi & Louisiana.

The Gulf States Section, Professional Golfers’ Association of America, is an association of golf professionals whose mission is to promote interest, participation, and enjoyment in the game of golf; establish and maintain professional standards of practice; and enhance the well being of golf professionals. Strategic Objectives:

Establish a collegial and supportive environment among PGA Members, including:
–Organized Competition
–Meetings
–Benefits
Encourage the use and employment of PGA Professionals by providing services to golfers and the golf industry. Enhance the skill levels of members and apprentices through education. Provide service to support National programs within the Section. Promote enjoyment and participation in the game by providing programs and services to golfers. The difference between the PGA Tour and The PGA of America:

The PGA Tour and The PGA of America were affiliated until 1968, when tournament players, a subset of the membership, broke away to form a Tournament Players Division and gain control of their finances and tournament schedule. The tournament players’ group was later renamed the PGA Tour in 1975. Both The PGA of America and PGATour continue today as allies in promoting the game.

For the 7th time in his illustrious career, former GSPGA President and Golf Cars of Louisiana Sales Rep; Jake Narro, PGA is our Gulf States PGA E-Z-GO Section Champion 🏆.

A final day 67 propelled Narro to a 3 shot victory and his 7th Section title since Narro achieved membership in 1996. Narro completed a clean sweep of this year’s event, winning both the Regular and Senior division.

The Gulf States PGA enjoyed a tremendous two-days at Bayou Desiard Country Club who so graciously hosted our professionals in Monroe. Thank you to host GSPGA Members Nick Ellison, PGA | Bill Baker, PGA | Ryan Linder & Superintendent Brandon Johnson.

Thank you to Ben Nelson Golf and Outdoor E-Z-GO for continuing to support this event and our Section. Also supporting this event was Mark Danton of Winston Collection, Cam Smith, PGA of shadeheadwear, Taylor Erkman of StrackaLine, and Alvin Newell of Maui Jim.

Kyle Ellis, PGA of The Country Club of Oxford is your 2026 Gulf States PGA Professional Champion, edging out Will Maciasz, PGA of Grand Bear Golf Course in a playoff. 🏆

Ellis & Maciasz will move on to the 2027 PGA of America National Professional Championship at Streamsong Golf Resort next April. Jacob Berry, PGA, Jacob Ross, PGA & Jake Narro, PGA are our alternate qualifiers!

TPC Louisiana was a true championship host these past two days and we must thank Head Professional - Alex Abbruzza, PGA, GM - Luke Farabaugh, PGA & Superintendent - Luke McCool for their hard work during the championship.
