I call this my therapy.
Not because the gym fixes everything.
But this is where I clear my head, work through some things, pray, and remind myself that I can still do hard things.
For a long time, I thought I needed to feel motivated to train.
I’ve learned motivation comes and goes.
So now I lean on something better:
Discipline.
Consistency.
A plan that fits my real life.
Most days, I don’t need two hours.
I need 30–45 focused minutes to move, get stronger, reset my head, and get back to the rest of my day.
And that’s been the payoff for me.
Not just looking better.
Feeling better. Moving better. Having more energy. And becoming someone I can count on.
If you need a plan that fits your life instead of taking it over, my Pete Proformance app is built for that.

Fat me thought I needed more motivation.
For a long time, I kept thinking I needed to train harder, eat less, and somehow get back to the guy I used to be.
That usually worked for a little while.
Then work got busy.
Life happened.
I missed a few workouts.
Nutrition slipped.
And I’d feel like I was starting over again.
What finally changed wasn’t some perfect program.
I simplified it.
I started training in a way I could actually recover from and repeat.
30–45 minutes.
Strength and mobility.
More walking.
Protein first.
Fasting when it helped give my day structure.
Better sleep.
Prayer.
Then getting back to it when I wasn’t perfect.
That was the pursuit.
Not crushing it for 30 days.
Learning how to keep showing up for years.
And yeah, I lost the weight.
But the bigger payoff was getting back something I missed even more:
Feeling strong.
Moving better.
Having more energy.
Trusting myself to follow through again.
I stopped trying to become the old athlete.
I started building the man I wanted to be now.
If you’re in that season where you know you need to make a change, start smaller than you think.
Comment “RESET” and I’ll send you where I’d start.

Busy dad nutrition doesn’t need to be complicated.
Make a big protein once, build a few simple meals around it and make the good choice easier when the week gets busy.
This chuck roast is exactly that.
Simple.
Filling.
High-protein.
Easy to use for multiple meals.
Protein first. Keep it simple. Repeat.
Comment “ROAST” and I’ll send you the recipe.
If you’re a former athlete who just goes through the motions on lateral raises and feels more trap than delt, try this.
Most guys swing the weight, shrug their shoulders, and wonder why nothing grows.
Next shoulder day:
1️⃣ Grab a V‑row attachment
2️⃣ Thread your hand through and rest the top against your forearm
3️⃣ Lean slightly into the cable stack
4️⃣ Raise out to the side, elbow slightly bent
5️⃣ Let your pinky lead at the top
You’ll get a way better mind‑muscle connection in your lateral delt and a lot less trap takeover.
Save this for your next shoulder session and send it to the guy who needs to stop wasting his lateral raises.
