Pub-Style Catfish and Chips Recipe:

Ingredients:
1–1½ lb catfish fillets
1 cup flour + extra plate for dredging
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1¼ cups ice-cold light beer
Vegetable Oil for frying

Directions:
Heat oil in large pot or deep fryer to 350°F. Pat catfish dry and cut into pieces. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Just before frying, stir in cold beer until the batter is smooth. Dredge fish in flour, dip in batter, and fry 5–8 minutes until golden and fish reaches 145°F internally. Drain and serve immediately with fries, malt vinegar, or tartar sauce.
