𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐰 𝐀𝐫𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐰𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥 𝐢𝐧 2027.

Six artists. Two days. One incredible opportunity to watch creativity, craftsmanship, and the West come to life in real time.

On February 23 & 24, guests can stop by, meet the artists, watch their process, and see each piece take shape throughout the day. By the end of the day on February 24, the work is finished, and each one-of-a-kind piece will head to auction.

Betty Kunesh was the grandmother of Art of the Cowgirl founder Tammy Pate and the true inspiration behind Art of the Cowgirl. A horsewoman, artist, homemaker, mentor, and community pillar, Betty spent her 101 years leading by example and passing down a love for horses, art, family, and the Western way of life.

Created in her honor, the Betty Kunesh Legacy Award recognizes a woman who may not always stand in the limelight, but whose hard work, example, fellowship, and influence have made a lasting impact on the lives around her.

There is something romantic about the life of a cowgirl.

Maybe it’s the early mornings when the rest of the world is still sleeping. The sound of horses eating in a quiet barn. Dust hanging in the evening light. Worn leather, dirty boots, calloused hands and sunsets that make you stop, even when there is still work to be done.

But being a cowgirl has never been only about the way the West looks.

It’s about the way she lives.

She is the rancher and the horsewoman. The artist and the maker. The competitor and the teacher. The mother raising the next generation. The young girl dreaming about who she might become. And the woman who may have never set foot on a ranch, but carries that same grit, courage and determination within her.

At Art of the Cowgirl, we celebrate all of her.

The traditions passed down. The skills learned by hand. The horses that teach us humility. The women who came before us, the women riding beside us and the young cowgirls who will carry this way of life forward.

Because this life isn’t always easy.

But what a privilege it is to live it.

To get tired doing something we love. To care for good animals. To create beautiful things with our hands. To gather around people who understand why this life matters. And to belong to a community determined to keep its traditions alive.

Today, on National Day of the Cowgirl, we are especially grateful for every woman who carries a little bit of cowgirl in her soul.

May we continue to celebrate her, encourage her, teach her, learn from her, and make room for the cowgirls still to come.

𝓑𝓮𝓯𝓸𝓻𝓮 𝓶𝓸𝓼𝓽 𝓸𝓯 𝓐𝓶𝓮𝓻𝓲𝓬𝓪 𝔀𝓪𝓴𝓮𝓼 𝓾𝓹 𝓸𝓷 𝓛𝓪𝓫𝓸𝓻 𝓓𝓪𝔂, 𝓼𝓸𝓶𝓮𝔀𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓮 𝓪 𝓬𝓸𝔀𝓰𝓲𝓻𝓵 𝓲𝓼 𝓪𝓵𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓭𝔂 𝔀𝓸𝓻𝓴𝓲𝓷𝓰.

She’s pulled on yesterday’s jeans in the dark, poured coffee she’ll probably forget to finish, and fed horses before she fed herself.

Some cattle don’t know it’s a holiday. A fence that still needs fixing. Hay that needs to be put up. A sick calf that doesn’t care what the calendar says.

And a family is counting on her somewhere in the middle of all of it.

That’s the thing about this way of life: the work has never really been measured in hours.

It’s measured in early mornings and late nights. In calloused hands and tired horses. In meals reheated after everyone else has eaten. In miles driven, gates opened, babies carried, calves pulled, horses saddled and promises kept.

It’s measured in generations.

Because long before us, there were women doing this same work.

Women who rode beside the men, raised the babies, kept the books, tended the livestock, held families together and helped build the American West.

Some of their names made history. Most didn’t.

But their fingerprints are everywhere. And maybe that’s part of why Art of the Cowgirl means so much to us.

For a few days each year, we get to bring those women together.

The ranchers. The horsewomen. The makers. The competitors. The mothers and daughters. The women carrying old traditions and the young girls dreaming about carrying them next.

We get to sit beside one another, learn from one another, cheer for one another and remember that while this life can sometimes feel pretty lonely, we were never meant to do it alone.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘆, 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆.
