you might find me at ease and looking regulated, but don’t get it twisted — the mouthy war general hasn’t retired, she’s just minding my boundaries & protecting my peace🙅🏼‍♀️

embracing my femininity (and the duality/polarity in my own divine masculine energy as well) has been less about a “soft girl era” or aesthetic, less about emotional regulation, rigid routines, or some bu****it idea of perfection.

instead, it’s been about learning the cycles and rhythms that move me, and how to best participate with them in ways that allow them to serve my highest good.

no, I don’t get it right all the time
yes, sometimes I override my needs and work against myself

but I do get to learn from these experiences

yes, it brings me more peace and ease to do this in general
no, that doesn’t mean I’m peaceful and easy all the time

it means I know when to rest and trust, and when to pick up my sword and get on my feet

And that’s on balance, that’s on fluidity, and that’s absolutely on ✨ femininity ✨ my loves

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how to cultivate a space for sharing and how to share this practice in a way that feels authentic to me, and builds genuine connection and secure confidence in the relationship I share with the folks who come to practice.

I’ve been at this long enough to trust the asking of this question means it’s about to evolve, and I should expect the unexpected… and that’s exactly what I’m finding.

The moment I got curious, two ideas lit up, almost instantly:

1– Curated playlists
For YEARS, I have been using a combination of 3 master playlists with hours of music that I would literally open, hit ‘Shuffle,’ and let it rip. This served me well in the right time and spaces, but I’m feeling a pull away from it.

2– Physical touch and hands-on assists
Even pre-2020, I wasn’t doing a lot of hands on assists in my group classes, but when I became a trainer in 2021, I started offering private 1-1 and small group experiences for yoga, and it became a beloved way to offer support in healing and encouragement to believe in something a little more. The way I offer touch is less of an alignment adjustment or forcing anyone into deeper positions, but rather, it’s a way to connect, be really present with each other, and provide a secure foundation for building confidence.

I’ve been sitting with this stirring of ideas, and I’m feeling so inspired to lean in. And even though I’m going to be off for a few weeks, I’m diving in for this Saturday’s 9am vinyasa at Yoga Sanctuary In Richfield — some come drop in if you’re into it! Let’s embrace the future together 🫶🏻(but if you’re not, I don’t take consent lightly and there’s a note for you in the comments ⤵️)

but on a more serious note, I want to express immense gratitude for the incredibly kind and beautiful Lauren Cameron. Lauren came to my class at Groovy Plants Ranch years ago, and is one of the pillars of what has become the grooviest little family none of us expected to find. The journey of going from celebrating her inversion and arm balance progress, to celebrating all her running endeavors, to celebrating her engagement to the love of her life, to now having celebrated the union and declaration of their love has been truly such an honor. 🥲

Lauren, thank you for allowing me to come support you, hold space for you, and be among your family and friends to surround you with love on this beautiful day. 🫶🏻

And if you’re anyone else but Lauren and you’re reading this, and you’ve ever wondered whether or not your regular yoga teacher genuinely cares, ever thinks about you outside of class, or misses you when you’re not there…. Yeah. We care.

Like my dear friend Lauren says, sometimes you really do unroll your mat, and find your people.
And gosh am I thankful for mine 🥰
