A League of Their Own’s 34th anniversary!
⚾️🍿On July 1, 1992 “A League of Their Own” was released in theaters! Directed by Penny Marshall (Big) and written by Lowell Ganz (Splash) and Babaloo Mandel (City Slickers), from a story by Kelly Candaele and Kim Wilson. It stars Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, Madonna, Lori Petty, Rosie O’Donnell, Jon Lovitz, David Strathairn, Garry Marshall, Anne Ramsay, Megan Cavanagh, David L. Lander, and Bill Pullman. It tells a fictionalized account of the real-life Rockford Peaches of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, which existed from 1943 to 1954. USC assistant baseball coach Bill Hughes was the film's technical adviser and put the film's ensemble cast through baseball camp three months before filming. The tryout scene, at a fictional Major League Baseball stadium in Chicago called Harvey Field, was filmed at Wrigley Field. The Rockford Peaches' home games were filmed at League Stadium in Huntingburg, Indiana, and the championship game against Racine was filmed at Bosse Field in Evansville, Indiana. Additional games were filmed at Jay Littleton Ball Park in Ontario, California.🍿⚾️

In today’s NCS World Series matchup, Grayson Jacko and his 9U Lightning Elite squad found themselves in an early 5–0 hole against the Keller Falcons. The Lightning kept battling, and by the bottom of the 3rd the Falcons were hanging onto a 6–5 lead. With the bases loaded, Grayson stepped in and delivered the moment of the game a clutch 3‑RBI triple that flipped the score and powered the Lightning to an 8–6 comeback win. Great swing, Grayson!

In Saturday’s tournament matchup against the Dallas Rockies, Aidan Boyd of Lojo 11U smoked a ball to the right side and never stopped running turning it into a 2‑RBI inside‑the‑park home run. Great hustle and a great swing, Aidan!
