🏀 SHOUT-OUT TO THE SHARYLAND NORTH 8TH GRADE BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM! 🏀

What a day for these young men! They competed in a tournament today and came out CHAMPIONS! 🏆

They played three games back-to-back-to-back, got a short opportunity to rest, and then came right back out for the championship game. That takes toughness, focus, teamwork, and a whole lot of heart! 💪🏀

I’m extremely proud of the hard work and effort these young men put in today. It was an absolute privilege to work with them and be a small part of their preparation as they get ready for the upcoming season.

The season is just getting started, and if today was any indication, these boys have something special brewing! 🔥

Some moments are worth getting soaked for. ❤️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Hunter and I showed up to Tres Lagos for a 5K, and when we arrived, you could see the clouds in the distance, but not a drop of rain had fallen. Then the gun went off… and about five seconds later, the skies opened up. 🌧️

It poured the entire time—from the start of the race, through the finish, all the way until we received our medals. People were running straight to their cars, trying to escape the rain. But we decided to stop, take a breath, enjoy the moment, and celebrate what we had just accomplished.

I always tell my athletes, especially those new to cross-country or running: Go as slow as you need to, just don’t stop. Keep putting one foot in front of the other.

That lesson became very real for me that day. Around a mile and a half in, I was hurting. I wanted to slow down, but I couldn’t stop. I couldn’t have Hunter turn around and see me walking—because then he’d always be able to say, “But Dad, you stopped!” 😂

He ended up beating me that day, and I couldn’t be prouder. But the real victory was finishing together, through the rain, the pain, and everything that tried to make us stop.

This picture reminds me that sometimes the most beautiful memories come from the moments that don’t go according to plan. What seems impossible in the moment can become one of the greatest memories you’ll ever make.

Just keep putting one foot in front of the other.

I love you, buddy. ❤️ I love making these memories with you, and I can’t wait for the next adventure. 🏃‍♂️🏅

🏐 CO-ED VOLLEYBALL IS COMING! 🏐

I’m excited to start building a co-ed volleyball program for boys and girls in the 3rd–6th grades!

📅 Saturdays at Faith Baptist
📍 Off Buddy Owens & Shary Road

🏐 3rd–4th Grade: 10:00 AM
🏐 5th–6th Grade: 11:00 AM

My goal is to eventually build a co-ed volleyball league, but first I’m looking to build the program and get more boys and girls involved!

This will be a great opportunity for athletes to learn, develop their skills, get extra training, and have fun playing volleyball.
