It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that one of our beloved members has passed away.
Holly Murchie had been a member of Kaiju for over a decade. Holly was a staple at our 7am class for as long as I can remember. It’s a running joke that she never signed up for class because when she started she didn’t have a phone with internet, so she never knew how.
For the past 12 years I’ve been signing her into every class. I even signed her in this past Monday. After tough workouts, she’d always say, “Who the heck came up with this one?!” looking directly at me with a devilish little grin.
Holly, I always made fun of you because you used to wear those gloves with the fingers cut off. And this year you finally bought yourself a pair of grips to use. You could never remember to bring them in from your car on the days you needed them, so you eventually just started leaving them in a cubby. Well, those grips will now stay attached to my bag for the rest of my life. No one will ever use them again, they are yours, and they’ll have a permanent spot on me forever.
Hug someone close to you today. Life is too short. There’s a chance you don’t get to hug them tomorrow.
I will miss you every day, Holly.
