Perry’s own Talan Smith took on the nation’s best this week at the 2026 USA Swimming Futures Championship in Knoxville, Tennessee!

The Futures Championship is one of USA Swimming’s premier national meets, bringing together many of the fastest high school-aged swimmers from across the country. Qualifying requires achieving nationally recognized time standards that only a small percentage of competitive swimmers reach, making qualification itself an outstanding accomplishment.

Representing Perry and Spearhead Aquatics, Talan competed against some of the nation’s top young swimmers and delivered an outstanding performance. He recorded five lifetime best times, won two heats, earned two finals appearances, and won a swim-off to secure a spot in the championship final. We are incredibly proud of the way he represented our community on the national stage and can’t wait to see what next season holds!
