Before, during, and after photos showing off the hard work the Attwood crew put in on a project in California recently! They extended the arena from a small dressage court to a large one, installed a new drainage layer base, new containment, new mirrors, and new Pinnacle footing! Talk about a transformation ✨

Since we quoted Meghan Trainor in our last post, we'll keep with the pop culture theme and quote Shrek next...

"Onions have layers. Ogres have layers. Onions have layers...you get it! We both have layers..."

So really onions, ogres, and good arena bases all have layers in common 🤔 You need a solid foundation to build off of, geotextile fabric in different layers to keep materials separate, drainage pipes to allow the water to drain down through the base and out of the ring, rock for permeability and stability, edging to keep the footing in, and a good footing that's designed for your discipline to make the perfect set up (at least when it's done by a professional, but that's a whole other topic 😅). Think of it like a multi-tier cake; when one layer fails, the whole thing crumbles! That's why it's so important to have it done right...and we can help you do just that 😉

..because it's truly the most important part of a successful arena! So much more goes into it than just grading a space with a slight slope, compacting it, slapping some footing on top, and calling it a day. Good bases have layers...which we'll talk more about in our next post!
