This is a hard post to make, but with some things that have happened this year, decisions had to be made 😭
Meet Magnificent AR aka “Voodoo.”
She is a big, beautiful 2020 AQHA mare with names like PYC Paint Your Wagon, Corona Cartel, Chicks Beduino, and Pure D Dash on face papers. She is well bred, sweet as sugar, and full of potential.
On the ground, you won’t find a more polite, gentle girl. Amazing for farrier and vet, stands tied forever, loves to be loved on, lunges both directions, hauls & stalls well, goes out with mares, geldings, or by herself. Easy to catch. My 4 year old kid leads her around.
Voodoo will walk, trot, canter, stop, back, bends at the rib, yields front and hind, neck reins, pivots. She moves off the leg and inside rein. She trail rides alone or with a group and loves it— honestly would make an amazing trail horse. She has been lightly started on the barrel pattern and has been hauled all over. She has done some expos for exposure, but she is not a finished barrel horse and will need work to finish her out in the pattern.
But I will be brutally honest— Voodoo is a challenging horse in the arena. She is a serious athlete and has the potential to be a 1D/2D horse with the right rider. She has a huge heart and an even bigger motor. She CRAVES speed. She is NOT a horse for a kid, beginner, or intermediate rider. You absolutely have to be confident and experienced, as she is a HOT & POWERFUL girl— specifically when it comes to asking for speed and needs someone to keep her in check and help her through her big emotions.
She has a history of bucking that began with a previous owner, and I will chat more about that with those seriously interested.
Voodoo does require some light maintenance and I can discuss that also with seriously interested buyers.
This is a horse that ideally would go to a trainer or experienced rider to continue to finish her out in the barrel pattern, or make her an amazing addition to a breeding program. I would absolutely love to keep her and continue to work with her, however, I have had a very rough year, some life situations have changed and I have to turn my attention to others. She deserves someone to bring her up to her full potential and I have not had the time.
