Happy Marriage Maintenance Monday❣️
Marriage is a partnership, but being married doesn’t automatically make us great teammates.
There will be times when you disagree, see things differently, or have completely different ideas about how something should be handled. In those moments, it’s easy to start treating your spouse like the opponent instead of remembering that you’re both on the same team.
The goal isn’t to win against each other. It’s to work together to find a solution that protects and strengthens your marriage.
Good teammates communicate. They support each other. They recognize each other’s strengths. They step in when the other person is carrying more than usual. And most importantly, they remember that the problem is the problem, not their spouse.
❤️ Today’s Marriage Maintenance Challenge:
Ask your spouse: “What’s one thing I can do this week that would make you feel more supported?”
Then listen to their answer and follow through.
Because at the end of the day...
Same team. Same marriage. Same goal. ❤️

HAPPY MARRIAGE MAINTENANCE MONDAY❣️
You avoid the pothole because you know it can damage your car.
You avoid muddy roads after you’ve just had your car cleaned.
You make sure you put the right gas in your tank because you know the wrong fuel can cause damage.
We make intentional choices to protect the things we value.
Marriage requires that same intentionality.
You can choose not to say the words you know will hurt your spouse.
You can choose not to repeat the behavior you know damages trust.
You can choose not to keep going down the same road that always leads to disconnection.
Sometimes marriage maintenance isn’t about doing something new.
It’s choosing to avoid what you already know causes damage.
❤️ Healthy marriages don’t happen by chance, they happen by choice.
What’s one “pothole” couples should learn to avoid in marriage?

A strong marriage isn’t built on love alone, it grows through friendship.
The healthiest couples aren’t just spouses. They’re teammates, encouragers, trusted confidants, and lifelong friends.
This week, be intentional about enjoying one another - not because you have to, but because you genuinely like being together.
❤️ Marriage Maintenance Moment:
Plan one activity this week that’s simply fun.

Many people assume strength means carrying everything alone.
But true strength isn’t pretending you’re okay when you’re not. It’s being honest about what you’re carrying, creating space for support, and allowing yourself to be seen.
Healthy relationships thrive when both partners feel safe enough to share their burdens, ask for help when needed, and support one another through every season of life.
As we recognize Men’s Health Month, let’s continue creating relationships where emotional, mental, physical, and relational well-being matter and where no one feels like they have to have it all together all the time.
💙 Marriage Maintenance Moment:
Take a few moments this week to ask your spouse, “What’s been weighing on you lately?” Then listen with care, compassion, and curiosity.
