๐Ÿšฃโ€โ™‚๏ธ ROW WITH PURPOSE. TRAIN WITH POWER.

Rowing is a centerpiece of what we do at Fitness Mariettaโ€”and proper technique makes all the difference!

The rowing stroke isnโ€™t just pulling with your arms. Itโ€™s a powerful, full-body movement:

โœ… Push through the legs
โœ… Open the hips
โœ… Finish with the arms
โœ… Recover in reverse: arms, body, then legs

When performed correctly, rowing builds strength, endurance, coordination, and cardiovascular fitnessโ€”all with minimal impact on the joints.

Watch this instructional video, practice the sequence, and remember: good technique first, speed second. ๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿฅฉ NOT ALL PROTEIN SOURCES ARE CREATED EQUAL!

Protein supports muscle growth, recovery, strength, metabolism, and healthy agingโ€”but the quality of your protein matters.

Our Protein Hierarchy ranks 30 popular sources based on:

โœ… Protein quality
โœ… Essential amino acids
โœ… Leucine content
โœ… Digestibility
โœ… Overall nutritional value

Tier 1 proteinsโ€”like eggs, whey isolate, chicken, lean beef, fish, Greek yogurt, and cottage cheeseโ€”provide the strongest foundation for building and preserving lean muscle.

Plant-based proteins can also contribute! Soy, tofu, tempeh, edamame, lentils, beans, and pea-and-rice protein blends are excellent choices when combined strategically.

โš ๏ธ LOWER-VALUE PRIMARY PROTEIN SOURCES:

โ€ข Collagen powder
โ€ข Bone broth
โ€ข Peanut butter
โ€ข Nuts by themselves
โ€ข Oatmeal
โ€ข Spinach and other vegetables

These foods arenโ€™t necessarily unhealthyโ€”theyโ€™re simply less effective as your main protein source. Many contain less protein per serving, provide incomplete amino-acid profiles, or come with significantly more carbohydrates or fats.

Collagen may support your joints, skin, tendons, and connective tissue, but it is not a complete muscle-building protein.

๐ŸŽฏ Aim for approximately 30โ€“45 grams of quality protein at each meal, depending on your body size, goals, and activity level.
