The two-week tour with Rich Mandleur continued to the coast of Colombia, where baseball is truly a way of life for many.

It was incredible to reconnect with our amazing community partners and work alongside our PB Ambassadors Desi Relaford Sugar Ray Marimon Meza Andres Angulo El Hijo De Chiquinqui in Cartagena, Malagana, Tierra Bomba, Caño del Oro, and Bocachica.

Despite the logistical, economic, and institutional challenges they face, local leaders, coaches, and managers continue to fight to keep the sport alive for the kids. Their dedication inspires all of us at Project Béisbol, including Rich Mandleur to get involved and make a difference.

Together, united through baseball, education, and community, we can create lasting change.

This August, longtime PB community partner, equipment donor, and baseball coach from Arlington, VA, Rich Mandleur joined us on a long-awaited tour of seven cities and towns near Medellín and Cartagena, Colombia. 🇨🇴⚾

In El Peñol, Rich led the way with clinics for our new PB Club AGUILAS PB PEÑOL , in partnership with Softball Peñol. For all of us, including our staff, coaches, and kids, it was a rewarding experience learning from Rich’s experience and passion for the sport that brings us all together.

We continued on to Guatapé, where .manldeur and our Programs and Partnerships Coordinator, Andres Angulo, teamed up with our awesome local coaching staff Elian Altamiranda Jorge Herrera MARIABADER and youth team leaders Samuel Mújica breinner to introduce baseball for the first time ever and launch our new PB program in this famous colonial mountain town. ⚾🏔️

Thank you, Rich, for sharing your love of the game and bringing joy to hundreds of kids across Colombia!

And thank you to Arlington (Va) Little League and luke marshall for the equipment donations that helped make it possible! 💙⚾

La Fundación Project Béisbol invita a todos los niños y niñas entre 6 y 15 años a participar en nuestra segunda Clínica y Convocatoria de Béisbol en Guatapé.

Después de una primera jornada en la que muchos niños tuvieron la oportunidad de acercarse por primera vez al béisbol, regresamos con una nueva convocatoria para seguir llevando este hermoso deporte a más niños y jóvenes del municipio. ⚾

Este miércoles 26 de agosto tendremos nuestra segunda clínica y convocatoria de béisbol en Guatapé, un espacio pensado para que más niños y jóvenes tengan la oportunidad de conocer, aprender y disfrutar del béisbol.

Rich has been deeply involved in collecting baseball equipment in Virginia to donate to Project Baseball. A few months ago, his son’s glove was donated along with the rest of the equipment.

During his visit to Colombia, Rich opened one of the donation boxes that had been packed randomly—and there it was: his son’s glove.

For our entire Project Baseball team, it was a beautiful and unexpected moment. It reminded us of the connections we create through baseball and the meaningful moments that generosity can bring.

This time, it was a glove. But it goes far beyond that.

This story reminded us that when we do things with purpose and from the heart, life has a way of sending us little messages that reaffirm that our efforts are worth it.

In Project Beisbol every piece of equipment has future, a purpose, and story ready to be continued.

Our young athletes in El Peñol are deeply inspired and grateful to Rich for the equipment, the clinic, and the powerful guidance he shared with them—especially his focus on baseball fundamentals such as proper throwing mechanics, fielding technique, batting stance, and game awareness. These core skills, along with his encouragement and mentorship, will play a key role in their development both on and off the field, shaping not only better players but also stronger teammates and individuals. ⚾️❤️
