BCS (Beach Cities Sports) Youth Flag Football is a volunteer-managed, non-profit organization serving kids aged 5-12 in the beach cities of Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, El Segundo, Torrance, and Palos Verdes areas (however, players can come from anywhere). Our goal is simple: To teach the game of football in a fast-paced, competitive, non-tackle environment--and have fun doing it! Teams practice 1-2 times a week on local fields, and generally play one game a week (including some Friday/Saturday Night Games) on the world-class Field Turf surfaces at Mira Costa High School. However, due to our massive growth (from 200+ to 650+ kids in 3 years), we often play at other local fields like American Martyrs, Washington Elementary, Hermosa Valley or West Torrance High School. There is a playoff and championship structure in place, with medals for all players and trophies for division winners. Each player is required to have a specific number of minimum plays per game, so everyone gets a chance to learn. We take this seriously – we have volunteers specifically tasked to make sure each player gets the minimum number. Besides our volunteer coaches, we need people to help on game day – holding first down markers, doing MPRs or running the scoreboard. Just raise your hand – we’ll find something for you to do. Your child will appreciate it, and so will the league.
