Riding an e-bike to school in Mammoth Lakes? E-bikes are a fast and popular way to get to class, but it’s vital to know the local rules before taking off!

Know Before You Ride:
🚲 Must Have Pedals: To be classified as an e-bike, the bike must have operable pedals. Pedal-less electric bikes are classified as electric motorcycles.
🪖 Helmets Required: All e-bike riders are required to wear a helmet.
🛑 Road Rules: On town streets and roads, e-bike riders must obey the exact same traffic laws as cars.
🏃 Multi-Use Pathways (MUPs): All classes (1, 2, and 3) are allowed on paved MUPs, but you must cap your speed at 15 mph, yield to foot traffic, and remain respectful of pedestrians!
🏍️ Pedal-Less Electric Bikes: Permitted ONLY on OHV routes (unless modified to be street-legal with a motorcycle license). They are not allowed on town roads, sidewalks, or MUPs.

VC #5 is on Thursday, August 13th, on Mammoth Mountain, and it’s FREE! We’re racing out of the The Mill (Chair 10 and 2 area) riding the NICA course this time! Check out the course on our website. Registration is open now; you must register online to race. Please register now if you’re going to race; it helps to have a headcount for planning purposes. Two distances to choose from - Expert and Sport. Check-in begins at 4:45 pm, and the race starts at 5:30 pm. We will have medical support from Mammoth Hospital, nutrition from GU, water for your bottles, b**r from Mammoth Brewing, pizza from Giovanni’s, and prizes from local sponsors (Elixir / Roberto’s / Gio’s / Black Tie / Footloose / Bird and the Biscuit / The Eatery / Shelter Distilling / Visit Mammoth / Local Scoop / Specialized and more!). All for FREE! Not racing? We could use you as a Volunteer!

Let’s get the VC Party started! No snow in this forecast - just sun and fun! VC #2 is on Thursday, June 11, on Mammoth Mountain, out of the Chair 4 / Rollercoaster parking lot.

Registration is open now; you must register online to race. Three distances to choose from: 1-lap FunLap; 2-lap Sport; 3-lap Expert. Check-in begins at 4:45 pm, and the race starts at 5:30 pm. Village Championships Grand Prix: SEMBA Members can compete for prizes and prestige in the VCGP! We will track the Expert Category over the VC Series and assign points for the male and female finishers in each Expert race.
