Wisconsin United Roller Derby is hosting our first-ever home bout to be followed by a Black & White mixer.

Our theme? "A Bout! (Damn Time)"

Open to all genders, ages 18+, contact cleared. First-timers and newer skaters especially encouraged — this is our vibe, come join us!

Skaters need to:
✅ Have current WFTDA insurance
✅ Be cleared to scrimmage by your home league
✅ Bring black & white jerseys with your number
✅ COVID vaccination & booster requested

Mama was up in Ashland this week and had the privelege of catching a trail skate with Crash and Doc from Cheq Bay Roller Derby. The best thing about derby is making new derby friends!

Practice tonight (7/10) at the Arena at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison - 6-8pm. More friends at practice means more opportunities for us to work on gameplay skills - and YPU to get more skating in. Guests are welcome - just DM is ahead of time to let us know to expect you!

Wisconsin United Roller Derby was built by trans skaters and allies. While we don’t always get it right, we are always striving to be a space where people of all genders can skate.

Today, the Supreme Court ruling wrongly decided that trans athlethes do no get the opportunity to freely engage in the sports of their choice.

As Judge Sotomyer wrote in her dissenting opinion, sports can "help build resilience, tenacity, leadership, and discipline. It can lead to life-long friendships, community, and a sense of belonging. It can bring joy and the thrill of victory, along with all the lessons one learns from experiencing defeat. The benefits are immense."

Trans athletes are being kept from those experiences due to hysteria that does not align with actual facts.

Despite this gross misplacement of justice, WURD, as a community of athletes, will keep standing with and advocating alongside our trans teammates, family, and friends to have access to dignity, joy, and sports.
