What a way to open the season! 🏈⚔️ Our 6th Grade Crusaders came out firing today, earning a 32–6 victory over the Lancers at Edgewood!

Even better than the final score was getting some of our newer players valuable game experience. Those opportunities are a huge part of youth football—building confidence, learning the game, and developing the next group of Crusaders.

Great job by the entire team, and thank you to the Lancers for making the trip to Edgewood.

Tough one today for our 7th/8th Grade Crusaders, falling 18–0 to a strong West Regents team at Edgewood.

The scoreboard didn’t go our way, but there’s a lot of football still ahead. We’ll learn from it, get back to work this week, and keep getting better together.

Congratulations to the Regents on a well-played game, and thank you to everyone who came out to support both teams!

🏈 GAME DAY REMINDERS AT EDGEWOOD.

We’re excited to welcome players, coaches, families, and fans to Edgewood High School for a full day of youth football this Saturday!

We want to make sure everyone—home and visiting fans alike—helps create the positive environment our young athletes deserve. A few important reminders:

• Cheer FOR your team—not against the other team.
• Treat opposing players, coaches, families, and officials with respect.
• Officials’ decisions are final. Please do not confront or argue with officials.
• Spectators must remain in designated spectator areas and stay off the playing field, team sidelines, and warm-up areas.
• Only credentialed coaches, players, officials, Program Directors, and approved volunteers are permitted in restricted areas.
• Please follow all Edgewood Campus and facility rules while attending games. These rules should have been shared with you this week by your program director or coach.

Most importantly, adults should never engage in confrontations with other spectators. If there is an issue with another fan, coach, or parent, please find a Crusader Youth Football or league representative and allow us to address it.

These games are about the kids. Passion, excitement, and enthusiastic support are always welcome—but disrespectful, confrontational, or inappropriate behavior is not.

Crusader Youth Football, Edgewood High School, the Forward Youth Football League, and the Capital Region Youth Football League are committed to maintaining a safe, positive, and respectful environment for our athletes. Spectators, coaches, or players who fail to meet those expectations may be removed from the event, and additional disciplinary action may be taken when appropriate.

Please cheer loudly, support the kids, respect the officials and opposing teams, and help us make youth football the positive experience it is intended to be.

Whether you're wearing Crusader colors or cheering for one of our visiting programs, we appreciate your help making Edgewood a safe, respectful, and FUN place to play youth football.

🏈 CRYFL Game of the Week! RYSP - Regent Youth Sports Program make the short trip a few city blocks this Saturday to take on the Crusaders Youth Sports in a battle between two of the Capital Region Youth Football League's founding programs.

From our 7th/8th graders kicking things off in the morning with a Capital Region Youth Football League game followed by the Forward Rookie Tackle Football Wisconsin league games closing out the day. All five Crusader teams will be playing at home!

🏈 A GREAT DAY OF FOOTBALL FOR THE CRUSADERS! Yesterday, our 3rd-6th grade Crusader teams took the field at the Forward Rookie Tackle Football Wisconsin League preseason scrimmage, and we couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity to get ready for the season!

From our 3rd/4th graders through our 6th graders, the Crusaders played hard, competed, learned a lot, and got valuable live reps against teams from across the league. There were plenty of things to be excited about—and, just as importantly, plenty for our coaches and players to take back to practice and keep working on.

A huge thank you to St. Francis Xavier Youth Football for hosting and to all of the coaches, officials, volunteers, parents, and programs who made the scrimmage a success.

The preseason work is done. Week 1 is next week at Edgewood for all teams! 💪🏈

Crusader 🏀 Team Assessments Are Tomorrow! 🏀 There's still time to register for the second Crusader Youth Basketball Team Assessments on Sunday, August 23, at Edgewood High School!

If your child is entering grades 2–8 this school year, we'd love to see them on the court. Assessments help us create balanced teams and ensure every player is placed in the best environment to learn, compete, and have fun.
Assessment Times:

🏀 12:30 PM – 1:45 PM | 5th–6th Grade Boys
🏀 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM | 7th–8th Grade Boys
