On Saturdays from Noon to 1pm, this new 6-Week Series is focused on Growing Core Confidence: Find Your Anchor Within w/ Alex Pfeiffer

Our next Continuing Beginner Series is starting soon! These classes are for Beginners with a little bit of experience (or equivalent). We invite you to explore the embodied practice of finding your center.

Whether you're holding a plank, rising into boat pose, or transitioning through a vinyasa, a strong and stable center makes the entire practice feel more connected and empowered.

Your Core is the Source of Strong Foundations and Smarter Movement:

+ Build strength in your abdominals, spine, hips, and pelvic floor
+ Understand how your core supports balance, alignment, and transitions
+ Explore poses like plank variations, boat variations, low lunges, and side-body strengthening

The primary axiom of this training is that “We Practice for a Better Life,” which is to say that our approach to yoga is one of practice making your life tangibly better. In addition to the “hard skills” of teaching (sequencing, cueing), we will also focus on “soft skills” like presence, speaking from the heart, and teaching from an inner humility and dignity. These soft skills translate to many other areas of life just as your mat practice will.

Many have taken this training for that very purpose of bringing valuable skills into life.

Friday, August 14th
Candlelight Yin & Cello
6:30 - 7:45PM w/ Val & Clara
1882 E. Main St., Madison

The vibe for cello and yin is grounded in full, resonant sounds, and harmonious improvisations that flow with cueing of the relaxing postures. Cello is also the closest instrument to the human voice, and it creates an incredibly comforting, safe auditory atmosphere.

Register in Advance $30/$25 Early Bird

Yin Student Clara has been playing cello for 15 years. Originally from Sun Prairie, she’s taken her cello on the road for yoga events across the country.

Valerie teaches Yin Yoga, a practice of deep surrender. Expect to slow things down as you experience poses with long holds designed to work change into the most fundamental tissue in the body... your connective tissues.

Circling is such an applied meditation where you get to explore the depths of connection with others. We will sit in a circle and instead of just chatting, everyone is encouraged tune in to each other's thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

As an experiment in deep listening and genuine connection, Circling is a practice of tuning into the intersubjective space of the group’s collective interior experience just as you practice tuning into your individual interior experience during a standard meditation. For this reason, Circling is often called an Intersubjective Meditation.

Because of this layered dynamic, every circling event will have a solo meditation section. This is necessary due to the complex and layered nature of the practice. This is also why we highly recommend (if not require) that you attend one to three Beginner Circles before attending a Circling Lab. Come Join Us!

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 - 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗯𝗮𝗵
Teaches 4:00pm Community Class on Tuesdays and 5:15pm Flow on Thursdays

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝗴𝗮?
I got certified in 2018.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 ‘𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲’ 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝗴𝗮?
This is a difficult answer because I don’t necessarily have a favorite. I really see the value in each different style. However, I primarily practice Hatha with a Ta**ra approach.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝗴𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲?
I studied three different approaches of yoga (Iyengar, Bhakti, and Kaula Ta**ra) and the beauty of studying these different practices really allows me to see the truth that can be found in all different practices/beliefs for different people and what they may be resonating with in the current moment.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀?
Every one of us has our own unique story that comes with our body, mind, heart, and even breath. For me, yoga isn’t about achieving anything. It’s about meeting all four of these where they’re at, and connecting to something deeper so I can have a more loving relationship with myself, which then projects out into the world. I deeply believe yoga is for everyone, because you get to choose how you want it to be.
