I hope everyone enjoys the new option! I also really like it for reverse grip press downs since it seems to hit the long head a little harder.

Once you get used to the independent arms it’s a pretty good piece. The back pad adjusts forward and back, the seat adjusts up and down, and while the neutral grip handles make it feel more like a Front Military Press, the other set of handles feel like a traditional or midline Overhead Press.

Every body has their own shapes, abilities, and limitations, so please don’t think this is a list of the ten best lat pulls FOR YOU!

To know what works best for your body it’s best to try everything and decide for yourself.

But these are the ten on our floor that get me excited to train, have a good movement pathway and strength curve, and leaves me feeling like I used everything I had on my sets.

This is also based on what I’ve tried and what is currently on our floor, so if you think I missed a piece (or maybe should know about one) please let me know in the comments.

I guess it’s somewhat helpful when people give reviews about gym brands in general. If a gym owner has only one or two brands in their gym, the brands they picked do help tell you something about the gym owner and what they know about gym life.

But aside from maybe MedX, there’s really never been a company to make every single product on their line an epic piece. Everybody gets it wrong (or not quite perfect) sometimes and every once in a while a company that makes decent equipment gets one right and makes something absolutely incredible.

Chasing equipment by brand alone means you’ll miss those epic and REASONABLY PRICED pieces both on the new and used markets.

Not that I look at Hoist as a low tier brand at all. They make tons of sleeper pieces and the ROC-IT concept (while gimmicky-looking) still takes you through a movement pathway that no other piece will, and this one in particular gives a perfect stretch with a squeeze that feels more like a high row while backing off enough for a quality contraction.

A while ago, someone told me that the plate loaded version is by far better than the selectorized version and I wish I had taken that advice and gotten this piece in sooner.

I have to admit that it was a little overwhelming with as many people we had as part of the film crew showing up at MadHouse to make their movie, but it was one hell of an experience and everyone seemed to just go with it without making a fuss and it was more appreciated than you know!

We couldn’t risk giving out the dates and times of filming because we didn’t want the gym to get flooded with people hoping to sneak in an “unauthorized cameo” so it just had to happen naturally and hope for the best.

It was important to us to help get the movie made and give it the best possible chance of success that we could because I like the idea of putting women in Bodybuilding on a big screen in front of as many people as possible.

Too many women are discouraged from doing things that are considered non-traditional for their gender, and it’s not only men that are doing it, but other women…their families…sometimes even their friends.

Nobody should ever feel bad for living the life that makes them happy, so I HOPE films like this can help make women in Physical Culture more of a mainstream idea. Hopefully when enough people get used to seeing women in the gym they’ll start trying to climb up out of the dark ages and join us in the 2020’s so the ignorance can stop.

Thanks to everyone that saw the inconveniences and chaos and embraced it so we could make our small part of movie history.

Honestly, this is such an unusual back piece and it gave a surprising stretch and a crazy pump right around the shoulder blades. I don’t think we’ve had anything stand apart from everything else like this in a while.

William at ironmothership said he wondered which one would get more attention as they sit side by side on our floor. After using both I’d say it’s the Reflex version without a doubt.

We haven’t been posting a lot because we’ve been working on projects, making sure our involvement in the NPC/IFBB Atlanta Pro Supershow & NPC Atlanta Classic and other collaborative projects were handled well, prep for some filming to be done, and a little road time to make some improvements to our back day.

But ESPECIALLY when we’re quiet, it usually means good things are about to happen at MadHouse Gym. We definitely didn’t expect this one to be as much of a project as it was, but replacing the stack was a really good excuse to go ahead and make it a chain-driven machine, and I think it compliments the way this Pulse Row was built.
