First annual NC Tournament of Champions went down this weekend. Not a bad showing for our two representatives. Both took 4th and both had to battle through tough competition and adversity. Super proud of the effort. Back to the lab to work on some improvements but overall good weekend for these two.

A statement we share and hopefully instill within our athletes daily. Don’t teach your kids to run from the tough times or when things don’t go their way. Rather be the force that pushes through adversity and finds success.

Sports find a way of creating an environment that fosters this mindset and no sport on earth does a better job of it than Wrestling.

Sadly, most would rather blame a teacher for bad grades vs study harder. Transfer schools when the team isn’t the best vs pushing through and giving it your best regardless. Quit a team when you don’t perform or do the right thing vs owning your mistakes and working to improve yourself. Blaming any bad outcome on anyone other than yourself vs accepting your shortcomings and making yourself better.

It is okey to let your kids figure it out. You will be amazed how strong they will become. Or just keep coddling them and see where that gets you. Just remember when you do, this message isn’t just for our kids.
