🥎 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦: Three members of the Texas Tech softball program were injured Thursday afternoon in a jet ski accident at Lake Ransom Canyon.

Texas Tech Athletics told D1Softball that there were no critical injuries. All three student-athletes have been treated and are expected to make a full recovery.

🏀 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦: A Dallas judge granted a temporary restraining order (TRO) earlier today, allowing several college athletes to receive an additional year of eligibility. Lady Raider Bailey Maupin was among the athletes listed.

🏈 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗗: Texas Tech Football has landed a commitment from Florida State transfer QB Thomas Castellanos!

Castellanos, who was recently granted a fifth year of eligibility, was one of the ACC’s most dangerous dual-threat quarterbacks in 2025, totaling 3,317 yards and 24 touchdowns. He led Florida State with 557 rushing yards and set a school record for a quarterback with nine rushing touchdowns.

1️⃣0️⃣ 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦: We are Jacob Rodriguez days away from kickoff! 🏈

Jacob arrived at Texas Tech after transferring from Virginia and quickly became one of the leaders of the Red Raider defense. After a strong 2024 season, Rodriguez took his game to another level in 2025, finishing with 128 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 7 forced fumbles, 4 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries.

His historic season earned him First Team All-Big 12 and First Team All-American honors, along with the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award.

Rodriguez also became the first Red Raider to win the Butkus Award, Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Chuck Bednarik Award and Lombardi Award. He finished fifth in the Heisman Trophy voting and helped lead Texas Tech to its first Big 12 Championship. Jacob was drafted my the Miami Dolphins in the second round with the 43rd overall pick of the 2026 NFL draft.

🏈 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗗: Texas Tech has secured a commitment from 5⭐ OT Austin Attalah (San Bernardino, CA)! The 6’7”, 305-pound offensive tackle is ranked as the No. 14 recruit in the 2028 Rivals300. He chose the Red Raiders over Texas and USC! 🔴⚫

1️⃣1️⃣ 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦: We are Jakeem Grant days away from kickoff! 🏈

Jakeem Grant came to Texas Tech in 2012 and quickly became one of the most electric players in the Big 12. Grant broke out as a junior in 2014, catching 67 passes for 938 yards and seven touchdowns while also returning 23 kickoffs for 515 yards. He earned All-Big 12 honorable mention honors.

Against Oklahoma State, Grant put together one of the best games of his career with 323 all-purpose yards, including a 90-yard touchdown reception and a 100-yard kickoff return.

Grant finished his Texas Tech career as the program's all-time leader in receiving yards with 3,164 and ranked fourth in career receptions with 243 at the time. He went on to be selected in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins.
