DANCENSATION summer alumni spotlight on Emerson Walker…

Emerson grew up at DANCENSATION and was named our performer of the year in 2015. He was a Showbiz kid, elite dancer, senior scholarship winner and is currently a teacher at DANCENSATION. Emerson graduated from YPAS in 2020 as a MT major. He went on to University of KY where he graduated in 2024 with a degree in DANCE. Emerson is now the Senior entertainment supervisor at Kentucky Kingdom where he manages all of the shows and choreographs as well. (Hey, take a closer look…that Robin Bloom sure looks familiar.).

DANCENSATION Summer Alumni Spotlight on: Stephen Vaught

Stephen graduated from YPAS and was an elite dancer, showbiz kid, teacher and was our performer of the year in 2016 and earned his Senior Showbiz scholarship in 2017. Stephen is currently living in Orlando, Fl working as a Featured Dancer at Universal Epic Universe! He is performing in Le Cirque Arcanus inside the Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry Of Magic! There are 13 shows a day and Stephen performs in at least 4 of the shows each day! Stephen is loving this chapter of life & is looking forward to more days under the circus tent!

Please join us at St.X theater at 6 PM on Sunday 8/9 to support our 5 graduates in their final show before they head off to college. Admission to the Senior Showcase is $10 cash at the door per person. ALL PROCEEDS GO DIRECTLY TO THE SENIORS! DANCENSATION will match the cash collected at the door to create the scholarship for each senior. Thank you in advance for your support and we will see you at the show!

The Showbiz kids will be performing at the St. Joes Picnic Saturday 8/8 at 1:00 on the entertainment stage. Come out and cheer us on and support this great event! Click on the link for important info re: parking and more.

Dancensation summer alumni Spotlight: Catherine Dewberry

Catherine graduated in 2023 and was a Showbiz Kid, elite dancer and a student teacher at DANCENSATION where she earned an 11 year pin and received a senior showcase scholarship. Catherine now attends Florida Southern University and is going into into her senior year as a Musical Theater major and is also a member of her college dance team. This summer, Catherine is performing professionally with Missoula Children’s Theatre. Every week she travels to a new city and teaches a full musical and performs along with up to 64 students.

Elizabeth is a former Showbiz Kid & elite dancer who graduated in 2023. She is a senior theater major at Wright State university. Elizabeth was a featured performer this summer in Kings Island’s stunt show, Beach Blast X-Treme.

LUCY BICKERS:
Lucy graduated in 2023 and was an elite dancer and SBK at DANCENSATION. She will be a senior this fall at NKU studying musical theater. You can catch her performing this summer as a swing at Kentucky Kingdom! She covers multiple tracks in their Boombox Summer Jam show and is having a blast! (Pictured top row far right)

DANCENSATION Summer Alumni spotlight. LIV ASHLEY
This week, we are featuring Liv Ashley who was a DANCENSATION elite performer, our performer of the year award winner in 2020, a student teacher and a Showbiz kid who graduated in 2024. Liv is working as a news reporter on camera for NBC’s KOMU8 News in Columbia Missouri this summer. She will be conducting interviews, filming video, and more seen by nearly 42,000 mid Missouri residents! Liv is one of the youngest reporters at the station and is also simultaneously taking classes at the Missouri School of Journalism. When she’s not at the station she’s giving tours of the journalism school to prospective students.

Incredibly proud of our DANCENSATION students who performed in Cinderella at Youth Performing Arts School - YPAS this past weekend. This show is beautiful and a “must see”. One weekend left with shows 12/5 & 6. Highly recommend!
