$20: This seems crazy cheap in light of current events, but I'll honor it for the time being. Features "Down from Dover," which I'd pay twenty bucks to hear once.

$50: There are a couple of Dolly titles in the pipeline, but I'm posting what we currently have on the floor. This is Dolly's debut long-player from 1967, released when she was 21 years old. Check out that back cover photo.

Please join us this Friday at 7:00 PM for musical performances by our friends Sarah Traughber and R Keenan Lawler. While Keenan is a veteran of the "stage" at Surface Noise, Sarah will be making her debut and, if I'm not mistaken, playing in Louisville for the first time since moving back from Oregon. We're pleased to be hosting the both of them and excited to be returning to the deep well of experimental music here in the Derby City. R Keenan Lawler's bio appears below; we'll be profiling Sarah in a separate post.
R Keenan Lawler (born 1964 in Glasgow, KY) is a Louisville, Kentucky improviser, composer, and sound artist. For nearly five decades, he has been a restless explorer of sound and a maker of music which figuratively and literally falls between the cracks.
Lawler emerged from the Lexington, Kentucky post-punk underground music scene of the early 1980s and in the intervening years worked with some of the prominent groups of the era including East Coker, Paul K and the Weathermen, Red Fly Nation, and Lilypons. Since the late nineties, he is best known for developing an idiosyncratic language on the metal-bodied resonator guitar, extending its timbral and harmonic range far outside the usual role in bluegrass and blues.
In addition, Lawler continues to seek new modes of expression utilizing microtonal acoustic and electric guitar. An upcoming fall 2026 release, “Church Of Hyrax ," will feature live solo 19 Equal Temperament acoustic guitar.
