Ty has been climbing since 2019 and recently got back into it this January. After completing mechanic trade school, he found his way to Rocksport, drawn by roped climbing and the community.
“These are the closest friends I have, and they’re the people I see every week. It’s really nice having a consistent community where I can be myself.”
Aside from climbing, Ty loves tinkering. He got a trial by fire when he bought his first car with 200,000 miles on it(Yikes!), and since then he’s spent plenty of time working on cars, electronics, and other projects. He even built his own computer, which he now uses to play competitive Counter-Strike.
That same appreciation for technical problem-solving carries over into his taste in music and he’s an avid fan of math rock, an aggressive and highly technical style of guitar playing.
His favorite move is a heel hook, his kryptonite is slopers (another crux for small hands), his goal this season is to become a consistent 5.12 climber, and his favorite post-climbing snack is a clementine—or was it a tangerine? I still don’t know the difference.
If you see Ty around, say hi! He’s a solid climber who’s progressing quickly and is always fun to chat with.

Tom has been climbing since 2025, when a couple of his friends brought him to Rocksport for the first time. When he began, he was nervous to belay, but he got the hang of it, and now he climbs most nights of the week.
Having grown up in Colorado, Tom was exposed to outdoor sports like whitewater rafting and horseback riding from a young age, but he didn’t discover climbing until adulthood.
His goal for this season is to start climbing 5.11 consistently and get more comfortable taking lead falls.
“My favorite part of climbing is the physical activity and progression. I like that no matter what it is I’m trying, there’s always room to grow. When I first started, I couldn’t understand how my friends were doing this 5.7, and now it feels easy for me.”
His superpower is doing pullups on jugs (same here), his kryptonite is slopers, and his favorite move is a back flag.
When he’s not climbing, he likes to play PC games, cook gourmet steaks, and, get this, he’s forklift certified!
If you see Tom around the gym, be sure to say hello. He’s a great guy with a thoughtful perspective on what climbing means to him.

Meet the Team!
Tiffany has been climbing since 2022. She was first exposed to the sport on a backpacking trip out west when she visited the Garden of the Gods and Yosemite. After returning home she immediately got a membership at Rocksport, with dreams of El Cap in her head.
Since then, Tiff has been building up a base of traditional climbing in the Red and abroad, slowly working her way through the classics.
As a setter, she brings her passion for climbing into the art. Her favorite style of climbing is techy vert (but her cave sets aren’t bad either!). Her goal for this fall is to send The Dainty Butterfly (5.12c) at the Chocolate Factory.
“I love feeling like a ballerina while I’m climbing, balancing on my feet and dancing up the wall.”
When she’s not climbing, setting, or travelling, she likes to play disc golf. She’s played the course at RedPoint BBQ and refuses, categorically, to do the throw over the pond.
Her favorite shoe is the Yosemite Bum, her superpower is her balance (a skill she mastered on rest days, slack lining at Miguel’s), and her Kryptonite is scary arete climbing (No Place Like Home, anyone?)
If you see her in the gym, ask about her climbing. In just four and a half years in the sport, she’s managed to build quite the résumé and can probably give you some trip beta!

Pranav has been climbing since 2025. He got his start last summer when his roommate convinced him to give climbing a try, and he’s been hooked ever since. He first came to Rocksport because he wanted to learn rope climbing and eventually take those skills to the Red River Gorge.
“When I started climbing here I knew probably two people. Now I know at least half the gym. Every day it feels like I meet someone new.”
His goal this season is to become a consistent 5.12 climber and build fitness for the cooler temps this fall (He’s got a while to wait). He loves climbing in the Red, especially the big, friendly iron plates.
If you’ve climbed with Pranav, you’ve probably noticed his superpower: he never needs chalk.
“Growing up in India, my body got used to being very hot, so I pretty much never sweat.”
When he’s not climbing, he’s working as a thermal engineer, optimizing gas-powered boiler systems. He moved to the United States to pursue a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, and while we can’t confirm he’s the smartest person in the gym, he’s certainly in the running.
His favorite post-climbing snack is yogurt and granola with berries and honey (never chocolate chips).
So if you see Pranav around the gym, say hello. He’s a wonderful guy, with a winning smile (see above).

Lucy has been climbing since 2016. She began in college, after signing up for what she believed was a climbing “club”, and was quickly thrust into the competition sphere! She first came to Rocksport because she was missing training on ropes.
“Rope climbing is where my love of the sport started. Bouldering is fun, but you just never achieve the same kind of flow state”
Her goal is to send her first 5.13 this fall. She’s still project shopping but thinking seriously about Evil Emperor and Snooker, both in the Red River Gorge.
Her favorite after-climbing snack is a RockHouse veggie-burger with cheese, no bun, and a side of sweet potato fries (extra salt)
She’s also a 2nd year resident, specializing in orthopedic hand surgery (she loves the crossover from climbing).
Her favorite shoe is the Skwama Vegan, her superpower is vertical crimping, her favorite move is a drop-knee, and her Kryptonite is dynamic movement (sorry about the purple one).
So if you see her in the gym, give her a nod, she’s balancing residency, hard projecting, and being an all-around good person. And I assure you, she brings surgical precision to all three!
