Did you know the first wheelchair basketball game was played at Birmingham High School in Van Nuys? π
We were honored to join the unveiling of Wheelchair Basketball Square at Birmingham High School - the birthplace of wheelchair basketball and former VA hospital where the first game was ever played.
As Los Angeles prepares to host the first-ever Paralympic Games in 2028, honoring where adaptive sport began right here in our own city makes this moment even more powerful.
History matters. Community matters. Sport matters.
Thank you City of LA and LA City District 6 , for ensuring this historic location is officially recognized and preserved.

ππ Celebrating National Disability Independence Dayππ
On July 26, 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law β a landmark moment that opened doors to employment, transportation, and community life for millions of Americans. It didn't happen by accident. It happened because leaders, advocates, and the disability rights movement refused to accept "no" for an answer.
Today, , , and are proud to stand together in honoring that legacy β and in recommitting to a future where accessibility isn't an afterthought, it's the standard.
Progress isn't just something we look back on. It's something we build every day, together. πͺ
We look forward to another great season of the LA Rams Wheelchair Football Team! πππ
