Decluttering isn't usually the hardest part. Knowing what to do next is.
After helping more than 1,400 families, I can tell you the pattern almost every time.
You clear one closet on a Saturday, feel amazing for a couple of days... then life gets busy, and you're right back where you started.
That's not a willpower problem.
It's a missing plan.
That's exactly why I created Decluttering With Joy.
It takes you step by step from decluttering to organizing, so every space has a logical home and a clear purpose. No wondering where to start. No decision fatigue. Just steady progress you can actually see.
It's a small one-time investment in a guide you'll use again and again.
If you're done collecting decluttering tips and ready for an actual plan, comment JOY and I'll send you the details.

Some clutter you see right away.
Other clutter you've walked past so many times you don't even register it anymore.
The manual for a TV you don't own anymore.
A random key that doesn't open anything in your house.
Reading glasses from three prescriptions ago.
Taxes from 1998.
None of it feels urgent. That's exactly why it's still there.
But it adds up. Drawer by drawer, shelf by shelf, until "I'll deal with it later" becomes ten years.

Midlife has made me far more selective.
I’m no longer willing to manage things I don’t use, love, or truly need.
Here are the 10 things I stopped buying after decluttering:
1. Extra storage bins
2. Single-purpose kitchen gadgets
3. Seasonal decor for every holiday
4. “Future self” hobby supplies
5. Clearance items with no plan
6. Trendy organizing products I don’t need
7. More tote bags
8. Entertaining platters for “someday”
9. Fantasy clothes for future me
10. Bulk items that don’t fit my space
It’s not about restriction. It’s about freedom.
What’s one thing you don’t buy anymore in this season of life?

Sometimes it's not one big decluttering session that changes your home.
It's a handful of simple rules you decide to live by.
Rules like keeping an ongoing donation bag, setting limits on how much you keep, labeling bins, and making regular donation trips.
They're small, but they make it much harder for clutter to quietly build back up.
After helping hundreds of women declutter their homes, I've learned that it's often the little things we do consistently that create the biggest sense of calm.
Which rule are you stealing for your own home? I'd love to hear in the comments. 💛
I know what you're thinking… $20 sounds like a lot.
If I throw away a bunch of stuff that costs $20 to replace, that could add up.
Okay, try this.
Open your junk drawer and go through it one item at a time.
Old pens. Random cords. Loose screws. Takeout menus.
Stuff you're on the fence about.
I bet you could toss half of it and never miss it.
Save this for later so you remember the 20/20 rule the next time you're decluttering.
