๐Ÿ”‘ Members: Tomorrowโ€™s 2 Round workout is the perfect place to think about these cues!

The squat is one of those foundational movements that shows up everywhere.

Get better at your squat, and youโ€™ll build a stronger foundation for so many of the other movements you do.
Coach Pat breaks down the squat in our latest YouTube video, shares key technique tips, and covers what you can do to get more out of every rep.

Check it out on YouTube and level up your squat! Link in bio.

Whether you pushed, carried, walked, customized, did it with a team, or took it on completely by yourself; be proud of what you accomplished.

The goal was never just to finish the workout. It was to remind yourself that you are capable of doing hard things.

That when life feels overwhelming, you donโ€™t have to figure it all out at once. Focus on whatโ€™s right in front of you, and keep moving forward.

There will always be challenges, often completely unexpected. Every time we choose to keep going, we remind ourselves that weโ€™re capable of more than we thought.

Weโ€™re incredibly proud of every Street Parking member who took on this challenge. However you finished, you showed up, you kept going, and you got it done. ๐Ÿ”‘

Final weekend of the IRL Workout Challenge! ๐Ÿ”‘๐Ÿ”ฅ

Go solo or grab a friend and get after it! Either way, this workout is about more than just getting through the reps. Itโ€™s an opportunity to reflect on what youโ€™re carrying in your day-to-day life, lean into the hard moments, and remind yourself that youโ€™re capable of pushing through.

We brought the workout to life here in the PNW, gathering at Crown Park to tackle it together. We even got Natalie to jump in on the fun!

Thatโ€™s one of the best things about fitness. You never know whoโ€™s watching, who youโ€™re encouraging, or who might decide to take that first step because they saw you doing it.

One workout can inspire more than you think.

Letโ€™s finish this challenge together. ๐Ÿ’ช

Each round starts with 150 shared barbell reps before the two of you head out together for an 800 meter run. Divide the barbell work however youโ€™d like, but communicate before each movement so both partners know the plan. Whether you trade off every 5 reps, every 10 reps, or tackle larger chunks, the goal is to keep the bar moving while giving the working partner enough time to recover between turns.

Choose a barbell weight that allows both of you to move almost continuously while itโ€™s your turn to work. You shouldnโ€™t need many breaks within your set before switching partners. Of course, you could hang onto the bar for bigger sets if you wanted, but we probably wouldnโ€™t advise it. Short, consistent turns will help both partners stay fresher and keep the pace high throughout all 150 reps.

Once the barbell work is done, youโ€™ll tackle the 800 meter run together. We want this to be a hard pace, potentially beyond what feels comfortable. Start the first 200-400 meters at a consistent โ€œhard-ishโ€ pace and leave just enough gas in the tank to finish strong. The quicker you finish the run, the sooner you can get back to the bar and start chipping away at the next round.

80 miles. One powerful reminder: falling short isnโ€™t failure, giving up is.

Meet Street Parking member Hallee M. and read what keeps her choosing hard things.

Coach Alexandra Trahan said it best๐Ÿ‘†

Maybe itโ€™s choosing dumbbells instead of a barbell, 10 minutes instead of 20, or customized instead of doing it as programmed. None of these are โ€œless than.โ€ Itโ€™s just what works for the season youโ€™re in right now.

๐—–๐—ข๐—”๐—–๐—›๐—˜๐—ฆ ๐—ก๐—ข๐—ง๐—˜๐—ฆ:
The med ball cleans are BACK! Synchro is when both partners stand tall from the squat at the same time. Settle into a smooth, repeatable rhythm from the start rather than trying to race through the first few rounds. Think deadlift, pull to full extension, pull under the ball, receive with your chest up, and stand tall. Range of motion matters here, so do your best to hit the standard every rep.

Each round includes 10 shared wall walks - alternating EVERY rep - so each partner will complete 5 wall walks per round. We recommend deciding before the workout who will do the first rep each round so there isnโ€™t any confusion once the clock starts. Move with purpose, but donโ€™t rush your transitions: wait until your partnerโ€™s chest is back on the ground before starting your rep.

If wall walks are a limiting movement for one or both partners, customize early enough that you can stay moving consistently for all 5 rounds. Partial range wall walks, pike walk outs with feet on a box, push up + shoulder taps, or inchworms are all great options. The goal is to keep quality high from the first rep to the last, not survive the first couple rounds only to have the movement completely fall apart later.

๐—–๐—ข๐—”๐—–๐—›๐—˜๐—ฆ ๐—ก๐—ข๐—ง๐—˜๐—ฆ:
For the toes to bar, reps are shared. But only one partner can work at a time. When one partner hops down from the bar, the other hops up so thereโ€™s no wasted time. Talk to each other so youโ€™re always ready to tag back in. Struggling to reach the bar or only hitting 3-5 reps? Switch to hanging leg raises, knee raises, v-ups, or weighted sit ups.

For bench press, youโ€™re alternating max-rep sets. When you unrack the bar to start, youโ€™re doing as many as you can before you need to re-rack it, then switch. Pick a load you can hit 15-20 reps with in round one so youโ€™re still getting 8-10 in later rounds. Take the time you need between rounds to swap weight, just keep it efficient and be ready to spot each other.

โ€œArenโ€™t you scared of looking too muscular?โ€

โ€œNo. Iโ€™m more afraid of losing my mobility. Iโ€™m more afraid of osteoporosis. Iโ€™m more afraid of not being able to run around with my grandchildren. Iโ€™m more afraid of losing my independence. And Iโ€™m more afraid of losing the incredible sense of community Iโ€™ve found through fitness.

I donโ€™t lift weights because Iโ€™m chasing a certain look.
I lift because strength gives me freedom. Freedom to hike, explore, travel, play, and say โ€œyesโ€ to the people and experiences that matter most.

Every workout is an investment in the life I want to keep living.

Thatโ€™s a future worth training for.โ€
