Matthew Hardman will be discussing the Divers Atlas (https://diversatlas.org/atlas) which is an online, free, community run, global dive site database founded in 2024. It is a tremendous resource for anyone who is looking to find information about the local diving that exists in their area.
Matthew is an experienced environmental scientist, educator, and technical diver with a lifelong dedication to conservation, exploration, and community-based science. As a Director of Divers Atlas, he brings together a unique blend of academic insight, regulatory experience, and underwater expertise to help build one of the most comprehensive, open-access repositories for underwater data and dive site documentation. Fueled through his education and interest in helping to preserve the natural areas of Florida, Matthew found a special interest in photogrammetry, eventually using his masters works to focus on making the capture and processing of data easier for everyone, even with just an action camera. Now with a master's degree in environmental science, and an instructor for NAUI and SDI, Matthew leads a multidisciplinary effort to document dive sites through community-submitted surveys, media, and scientific observations.
Look forward to seeing youn all there.
