This class explores the relationship between abhyāsa (steady practice) and vairāgya (non-attachment), the two essential pillars of yoga described in Yoga Sūtra 1.12. Through a progressive sequence of āsanas, cultivate precision, resilience, and awareness while releasing attachment to outcomes. Rather than striving to achieve a pose, discover how patient, consistent practice creates greater integration and ease.
All levels welcome. Our Sunday community class is open to all as part of our ongoing efforts to keep Iyengar yoga accessible. Your generosity goes a long way towards supporting the art and science of Iyengar yoga through our nonprofit institute. Your donations are also tax-deductible. The topic and teacher of this donation based class changes weekly. Recordings available for 48 hours.

Today!
Inversions for All
Inversions are the heart of practice. But in Iyengar yoga, the process to invert is systematic while offering ways of practicing open to all. Downward facing dog pose, adho mukha svanasana is an example of a pose that is many things, including an inversion. While some conditions preclude inversions, the benefits of lowering the head and heart are vast. All welcome to this class.

Yogacharya BKS Iyengar famously said, “If you open the armpits, the brain becomes light. You cannot brood or become depressed.” Yoga allows us to experience the interconnection of the physical body and the emotional body. Join Victoria Fouladi this Sunday, July 5th to explore a practice that encourages emotional stability. All are welcome. If joining from home, a chair 🪑 would be a great prop to have on hand.
Our Sunday donation based classes help make Iyengar yoga accessible. Thanks to your generosity, these classes have been offered for many years.
