Senior night for Jelly this Friday. 🥺 Parents with young children - one unsuspecting day will be the last time you carry them…one last time you feed them…one last bath time together. Things that can sometimes feel like a task as you go through it, but you’ll terribly miss later.

BUT…with God’s help, you’ll raise up an incredible child that grows into an amazing young adult prepared to make an impact in the world.

Jelly…I don’t know how to say this as often as I should without it feeling a bit awkward, but I am soooo proud of you. No one truly knows all the challenges you’ve dealt with over the years like we do. It’s strengthened you. Emboldened you. Built your faith and character. Allowed you to see God’s provision. You’ve been all that a parent could ask from, ESPECIALLY as a first born child.

God is writing an incredible story with your life, and I’ve had a front seat to it. Enjoy these last few months of high school. You have much to celebrate. I love you infinity! ❤️🌹🙏🏼

🚨I NEED TO KNOW🚨
I’ve been extended an opportunity to bring my Florida Flight to Detroit on February 7th to play at Little Caesars Arena. Our game would include the Warriors - Pistons game as well.

I’ve been thinking a lot about all that has happened in my life, especially in terms of basketball. What I’ve realized is outside of some incredible playground battles and some church rec. league, most of my accomplishments in my basketball journey happened far away from where it started in Inkster, MI.

I’d like to come home and celebrate with my hometown folks. I would just need to sell 250 tickets to this Pistons game. I’m wondering if my goal if a back home would have interest/be motivated to show up for this.

If so? I’m also considering training hard for one last court performance from me. I turn 50 this month. I’m very healthy for my age. This is probably my last opportunity to do something g line this. I’d really like to share a piece if this with the place and the people that built me.

I’d need to know quickly. The tickets would be a little on the expensive side, and you’ll get to see my guy Steph Curry. It doesn’t matter what ticket you purchase. I just need to sell 250 to secure court time for my Florida Flight to play that afternoon before the Pistons game.

I need to know - will you come? 2 games for the price if 1? Come celebrate with me. This is important to me. Please let me know.

You have been intelligently designed with purpose. Your identity is found in Jesus Christ. From that, everything else will flow. The WHO that you hope to become has a starting point. It starts with knowing Jesus. My daughter and I met Angel at a Magic game last season. She took a picture with my daughter, who made the middle school basketball team as a 5th grader, but told everyone else that asked no.

Heavy heart today. Unspoken stuff. Trying to figure it all out.

If I had one thing I’d say to others, ESPECIALLY the youth. Being in a good church helps you find God’s voice in the middle of your storms. There are lots of distractions in our world - more than ever. So many selfish desires for things that really will never matter.

If you truly want answers, the best place is in a good church on Sunday morning. Truly knowing that is such a blessing. I’m so grateful I do, and that I crave this time every week. Lord knows I need answers. In Jesus name…AMEN!
