If your main goal is to gain muscle, get stronger and lose fat then there's no reason to be doing hippie s%@$ while you're weight lifting. ESPECIALLY if you're in a commercial gym.
More does not always equal better. Trying to pack in too much within a condensed time period isn't a good plan and just trying to make yourself "tired" during a workout shouldn't be the main goal.
Lift your weights, rest, and repeat.

If you're trying to get 10 reps and the first rep looks the same as the last, you need to go heavier.
Also, if you barely need to exert yourself, you need to go heavier.
Lifting heavier and exerting yourself helps stimulate your body's natural growth hormone as well as adaptation.
