Thank you again to our awesome committee and our door man Jeffrey Zaremba who did a great job checking everyone in. Such a professional and great young man. Everyone loved him. He did such a good job. Thanks Eva for setting that up! Thank you to our acoustic artist Mike Z who did a great job performing our 80s requests. Thank you to Emily Elizabeth Photography LLC for the great pics. To Avanzare Italian Restaurant - Lombard for the fabulous food, service and ambiance. Thank you also to Don Gomez for all the raffle items, Eva Regan Marski for the flower centerpieces, Patty Weyburn Conliss for the GE candles, Michelle Marie Miller-Searer for the balloons, Rich Yangas for his music equipment and DJ skills, and Tom Davies and Mary Yangas for help with setup and tear down. The culmination of our reunion weekend was topped off by our 40th Reunion Gala held at Avanzare Italian Restaurant in Lombard. We had a great turnout, amazing food, lively conversation and even dancing! It really was an incredible evening. Thank you again to everyone who came out. So awesome to see everyone! 🐏❤️👏🏼🤩😝

No reunion would be complete without a little golf outing for our die hards. Great to have this fun group on the links Saturday for our GE Class of 86 - 40th Reunion Golf Outing. A beautiful day and a great time was had by all at Lombard Golf Course, formerly Western Acres. Thanks for coming out everyone. Especially after a night at Otto’s. Thank you Rich Yangas for coordinating! 😝⛳️🤩❤️👏🏼

We had a great turnout at our Post Homecoming Game Mixer at Otto’s Friday evening. Great camaraderie and conversation. Such a wonderful time catching up with old friends. We also did a little fundraiser to help out one of our classmates Trish Jones Back who’s been fighting lung cancer now for about 10 years. She was able to join us for a bit that evening and was great to see have a little fun and smile given all she’s been going through. Thanks again to everyone who contributed. We have a great class with big hearts! 🥰😊❤️🙏🏼

GE School Tour Part II Video: School Tour Friday night before Homecoming was really cool. Amazing all the changes the school has undergone over the years, but yet there’s still a familiar feel in most hallways. Especially the senior hallway. Great memories! Did you know the kids aren’t even assigned nor use the hallway lockers anymore? They’re in the process of removing them all. Pretty wild to think. The school has more of a community college feel now. The cafeteria is totally updated with cool areas to lounge and hang plus high countertop areas. Next year they’re even putting in a coffee bar. 😝☕️ Classrooms have been redone and especially the Library. Floor to ceiling windows makes it more open and well lit. Not as dark and closed as it seemed when we were there. Great athletic facilities improvements too. While the Fieldhouse is now 20+ years old still looks new and has lots of multi use space for a variety of sports. Weight room, spin room and remodeled locker rooms. They still have industrial arts and home economics. The theatre is the same and they have keep many of old pics of performances and top athletes plus trophies from different teams by decades. Overall a great tour experience. Much thanks to Coach and Classmate Steve Bair and Dr. Mitch Berenson, Assistant Principal of Operations for leading the tour. Enjoy the pics. It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our GE Class of 86 classmate Thomas Barcy, 57, after a horrific worksite accident last week. He is survived by a daughter Adriana (AJ), his parents and his brother and sister. Please join us in sharing condolences and memories of Tom. May his memory be eternal.

Thomas H. Barcy Jr. (Tommy Judo) of Chicago, Beloved Father. Passed away on April 30, 2026 at the age of 57 in Evanston during an unfortunate work related accident. Tommy loved his daughter Adrianna (AJ) and his family. He was a fond friend to many. Tommy loved his Job and was a glazier for 27 years and worked as an Iron Worker for Local #63 for the past 11 years. He had a love for Judo and earned many trophies over the years competing.
Tommy was one of a kind. He was a happy man and had a heart of gold. He always had a positive attitude during hardships and challenges he faced. He often put himself last and made sure the people he loved and cared for were taken care of. He is survived by his daughter Adrianna Barcy (AJ) Lisa Krutz (AJ’s Mother) Thomas Barcy Sr. (Father) Frances Barcy (Mother) Julie Barcy (Step Mother) Nadine Humikowski (Sister) Matthew “Butch” Humikowski (Brother) A fond uncle to nieces and nephews. Tommy will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
