Four Pitchers Work Together As USU Aggies Defeats Weber State In Shut-Out To Close Out Conference Play
USU Aggies defeated Weber State 9-0 on Sunday as four pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Easton Walker struck out T Lunt to finish off the game.
USU Aggies was boosted by Alex Munns who went 4-for-4 at the plate. Munns singled in the first, singled in the fifth, singled in the sixth, and doubled in the eighth.
USU Aggies put up four runs in the sixth inning. USU Aggies batters contributing to the big inning included Walker and Tobie Swenson, who each drove in runs.
A single by Armendariz in the third inning was a positive for Weber State.
Max DeCorso earned the win for USU Aggies. He surrendered zero runs on six hits over six innings, striking out five. Jack DeSpain, Kesler Nelson, and Walker all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.
Dj Larsen took the loss for Weber State. He surrendered six runs on 13 hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking one.
USU Aggies smacked one home run on the day. Swenson went for the long ball in the sixth inning and had a triple earlier in the game.
USU Aggies totaled 15 hits in the game. Munns, Walker, Drake Baumert, Isaiah Norman, and Swenson all collected multiple hits for USU Aggies. Munns went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead USU Aggies in hits.
Armendariz led Weber State with two hits in four at bats.

USU Aggies Defeats Weber State In Low-Scoring Affair To Clinch Northern Pacific South Conference Champions For The 6th Straight Year

Both teams were strong on the hill Saturday, but USU Aggies defeated Weber State 3-1. USU Aggies pitchers allowed just six hits to Weber State.
In the second inning, USU Aggies got their offense started when Braxton Jensen singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
Mitch Coughlin was credited with the victory for USU Aggies. He allowed six hits and one run over five and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking zero. Jayden Berensen and Sam Busche entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
B Sanderson took the loss for Weber State. He went six innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out three.
USU Aggies racked up six hits on the day. Michael Kress and Jensen each had multiple hits for USU Aggies. Jensen and Kress each collected two hits to lead USU Aggies.
Weber State racked up six hits. Armendariz and McNeely all had multiple hits for Weber State. Weber State was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Morgan made the most plays with seven.

Fourth Inning Plays Key Role In USU Aggies Blow Out Over Weber State
USU Aggies knocked in six runs in the fourth on its way to a 7-1 victory over Weber State on Saturday. USU Aggies's offense in the inning came from singles by David Clayton and Tobie Swenson, a walk by Patrick Zahn, a sacrifice fly by Michael Kress, and an error on a ball put in play by Alex Munns.
USU Aggies tallied six runs in the fourth inning. USU Aggies batters contributing to the big inning included Zahn, Clayton, Swenson, Munns, and Kress, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Pete Nielsen was the winning pitcher for USU Aggies. He lasted five innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out four and walking one. Justice Purser and Jesse Hansen entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Larsen took the loss for Weber State. He went four innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits and striking out two.
USU Aggies saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Swenson, Clayton, and Easton Walker each managed multiple hits for USU Aggies. Swenson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead USU Aggies in hits. USU Aggies didn't commit a single error in the field. Isaiah Norman had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
