We have some beautiful boys coming along as we start getting our cameras going. The trail cams have failed us this year and we will be getting new ones next. Booking is open with limited availability. NO DOE HUNTS AVAILABLE. Can’t wait to see what else is out there. You are guaranteed to get a shot at the type of buck you are after or your money back. Can’t wait to see everyone and get hands on with some of these big boys.

I’ve had some questions that I would like to answer for everyone. As of this time, we are located in an area where we are not in much risk with the screw worm outbreak that has happened in west and south Texas. Anything is possible in the future years to come.

In managing our deer and keeping them as happy and healthy as possible we have decided against doe hunting this year. Our reasoning behind this is to hopefully prevent our bucks from fighting over specific does as much during rut. We wish all of our doe hunters a happy season and will likely be able to take a small few out for meat hunts on spikes. If we can not accommodate you this year, we can’t wait to see you again next. For our regulars that end up hunting in the area, feel free to give us a call and maybe we can have lunch in town while you are here. We love hearing about your adventures and seeing your pictures.

With this being said, our entire season will be for buck hunting instead of the first month being primarily doe.
Youth only- Oct. 30th- Nov. 1st
Large 8s and management if available- Nov. 7th-15th
Buck of choice- Nov. 16th- Jan 3rd
First come, first served

I had two hunters pass on this buck last year. We scored him from 2 years ago earlier today at 162 being the biggest buck to walk this ranch that we know of. I can’t wait to get back to the house and score last years set. There is a good possibility he was the highest scoring buck on the property last year as well even if his tines lost length. His mass is absolutely beautiful. Here’s half of High and Tight for you! 100% native white tail. ❤️🦌❤️

Hunting season is over, the ranch is at peace, so we are back to enjoying our sunsets from the back yard. Lots of work to do still before next year and typical maintenance, but we can’t imagine a better life. Can’t wait to see you all again next season.

Merry Christmas from Durst Ranch! This morning we dropped our final management buck that we had been after. We are happy to be closing the season on such a wonderful note. Many beautiful boys were laid to rest this year and many more families with stocked freezers. Thank you all for coming and hunting with us, and to those of you that have inquired about next year. We appreciate every one of you.

Happy Birthday to this beautiful woman I get to call mom and our ranch owner! None of this would be possible without you You have brought huge smiles to families faces near and far. We appreciate everything you do for us, for the community, and for all these wonderful people we call our hunters!
Congratulations on Big Boy, a buck that escaped many hunters this year only getting brief glances of him. He is just as one of a kind as you are. ❤️ Love you to the moon and back!

We are done with hunters for the year at Durst Ranch so it’s time to play cleanup and get our meat for the year. We will be hunting any management buck that managed to make it through the season without being harvested by a hunter or any buck that is 9.5 years old or older. The hunt is on for the land owners finally!

High Brow did not disappoint! As usual this year, this big guy comes with stories. We tried everything to get the bucks to come out for Jacob. The acorns were not in our favor. We went for a mid day ride around and managed to see some huge ones then stopped and hid in the brush to rattle some out. He had a great shot at one of the trophy’s but it was the only one he told me from the start he wasn’t interested in. The night before he left we were sitting in the blind with no deer. I tried rattle some out and nothing would come. While rattling we had a bobcat appear in the brush, which we hardly ever see around here and it was BIG. I put the antlers down and place my head nearly outside to blind and start squeaking in an attempt to get the cat to come out for him. Here I am with my head out the blind making funny noises trying to get the cat to come out of the brush while it skirts around us and he starts tapping on me saying, “BIG BUCK, BIG BUCK!” Out walks High Brow who is now chasing the cat around going deeper into cover. I throw the horns back out the window and give it one last shot to distract him and here he comes for a brief moment with just enough time for Jacob to get off a shot. Long story short, I rattled up a bobcat and squeaked up a buck. 😳😂 Congratulations on a truly amazing deer! Next time you are down here I can’t imagine what stories we will create. Who knows, maybe we can get that cat that’s on your bucket list.

Congratulations on your two beautiful bucks! Trateyn Parker and Kacy Lamascus of Kerrville TX dropped their bucks within 3 minutes of each other in different blinds with the same exact shot and their lead found just under the skin also in the same spot on both deer. Like mother, like son. Great hunt you guys. We were happy to have you.

Madison Turner of Alabama got hers! Jacob, her husband, is still on the hunt. Madison and I saw some big pretty guys wandering through when Jacob was not with us. Girls always do it better and have more luck at this ranch.
We had an adventure! From coyotes barking at us when we get out of the blind one morning to some critter under our blind making noise and scaring deer off the next day. We tracked her buck with zero blood trail having to track it by hoof prints and broken branches/cactus. He went about 100yds but was hard to stay on the trail of in the dark with no blood. Awesome shot girl!❤️ Way to get it done. Congrats on your first Texas buck, hopefully many more in the future.
