Our 2026/27 MLS NEXT Homegrown season officially gets underway today as all six age groups take the field against Club Ohio in Columbus.

NEXT LEVEL: Seamus D'Andrea
A late addition to our 2026 graduating class, celebrating players who have earned the opportunity to take the next step in their soccer journey at both the collegiate level and within professional academy pathways.

We are proud to announce that Seamus D'Andrea (2010 MLS NEXT Homegrown) has committed to continue his development with the Borussia Mönchengladbach Integrated Academy in Germany

Seamus was a big part of an outstanding year for our 2010 MLS NEXT Homegrown group, helping the team win their MLS NEXT league, qualify for MLS NEXT Flex, and make a run to the Last 16 of MLS Cup this year.

Throughout the season, Seamus has made important contributions in big moments, scoring vital goals and consistently impacting games for the group. His quality, work rate, and willingness to compete have made him an important part of a team that has enjoyed a memorable season.

Earning the opportunity to continue his development in Germany is an exciting next step in Seamus’ journey and a testament to the work and dedication he has shown throughout his time with the Wolves. We are excited to see him embrace the challenge and continue his development in a new environment.

Congratulations, Seamus, your Wolves family is proud of you and excited to follow your journey!

FIRST 11v11 TOURNAMENT IN THE BOOKS FOR OUR U13 GIRLS
Our U13 Michigan Wolves Girls stepped into the top Gold Division at the Reds Invitational this weekend and came away with a strong 2-1 record in their first tournament playing 11v11.
Three competitive games, plenty of lessons learned, and a great way for this group to continue preparing for the season ahead.
Now the attention turns to league play. The girls kick off their N1 league opener against Michigan Tigers this upcoming Saturday
A new chapter for this group starts Saturday. Let’s go, Wolves!

HOMEGROWN OPENING WEEKEND
The 2026 MLS NEXT Homegrown season starts here.
After a strong preseason, our MLS NEXT Homegrown teams hit the road this weekend for the opening games of the new campaign, with two big days of competition waiting in Ohio.
Saturday vs Club Ohio
Our Homegrown groups officially open the season against Club Ohio, as the first games of the new season go up for grabs.
Sunday vs Columbus Crew
Then on Sunday, our U16, U17 & U19 teams head to Historic Crew Stadium for a huge early-season test against Columbus Crew Academy.
Exactly the type of weekend we want to start the season.
A new group. A new journey. A new opportunity to set the standard.

HOMEGROWN WEEKEND RECAP

A strong start to preseason in Chicago.

Our MLS NEXT Homegrown teams traveled to the Endeavor Health Performance Center on Saturday for five preseason matchups against Chicago Fire Academy against high-level MLS Academy opposition.

Five games against one of the country’s top academy programs provided exactly the type of challenge we wanted at this stage of preseason.

Plenty of positives, plenty to build on, and, most importantly, valuable preseason minutes and experiences as our teams continue preparing for the MLS NEXT season ahead.

A great way to start, but we’re only going to work to get better!
