Cottonwood Riding Club

What a fun Saturday! Several riders and horses enjoyed a trail ride field trip today! The horses did a beautiful job and the riders had a great time together!

We are so excited to introduce you to Nora, and her sweet baby horse, Oxford!

Nora and her mom, Jenna, knew Oxford was their guy the moment they met. Nora says, “It was love at first sight when we met Oxford. He doesn’t argue, he’s my best friend, and he gives good cuddles and he’s always there for me.”

He is definitely Nora’s heart horse, and it has been so fun to watch this duo grow together. Be sure to say hello to Nora and Oxford (and Jenna) when you see them around the barn!

Congratulations to Washee and Kaitlin on finding one another! Washee, who’s a bit particular, let everyone know that Kaitlin was his person, and thankfully, she agreed! We are thrilled for both of them, and excited to watch them grow together!

(Don’t tell Washee he’s officially hers…ignorance is bliss 😊).

It was a big show week for Team Cottonwood, with riders showing both at the Colorado Horse Park for the Colorado Jumping Tour, and the Denver Polo Club for the Gold Creat Summer Celebration show. We are so proud of all our riders and horses! They received some great placings, and everyone learned a lot and supported one another.

Pony Camp has been a total blast this summer! Our campers have done a wonderful job, and the horses have really appreciated the extra love!

We are so excited for Hannah, Talulla, and Hamden, as they head to the Colorado Horse Park this week to participate in the USHJA’s Emerging Athletes Program (EAP). This will be Hannah and Hamden’s second year participating, and Talulla’s first. We are so proud of them, and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things they learn this week!

Meet mother/daughter duo, Caroline and Hattie! Caroline grew up riding horses, so when Hattie wanted to start riding, Caroline couldn’t resist joining in the fun!

They have been taking lessons with Chelsea for about two months now, and we are thrilled to have them with us at Cottonwood!

We are so fortunate to have amazing school horses and instructors to help our newer riders master the basics! Chelsea and Michelle offered hands-on demonstrations and position corrections to their riders this week, and it was so fun to see the riders grow throughout their lessons!

Congratulations, Avery and Mischief, on finding one another! We are so excited for your new partnership, and can’t wait to see what you accomplish together!
