Kevin Krogol Named Head Coach of the Chiefs

Rome, NY. (9-21-26) The Chiefs announced today that Kevin Krogol has been named the organization’s new head coach.

Krogol brings extensive coaching and playing experience to the Chiefs. He spent 14 years as the head coach at SUNY Morrisville, where he led the NCAA Division III program and helped develop generations of student-athletes.

Before beginning his coaching career, Krogol played collegiately at Utica College. He also served as a player advisor to the Chiefs organization over the summer, giving him valuable familiarity with the team, its players and its culture. His strong ties to the region, proven leadership and long record of player development make him an ideal choice to guide the Chiefs into their next chapter.

“Kevin is a respected leader who brings tremendous experience, character and knowledge of the game to our organization,” said Chiefs President and Owner Jimmy Milliken. “During his time as a player advisor this summer, we saw firsthand his ability to connect with players and positively influence our organization. His success at SUNY Morrisville speaks for itself, and we are thrilled to welcome him as our head coach. We look forward to what we can accomplish together.”

Long Drink Warrior Classic Is Coming To Utica

UTICA, N.Y. — The Utica University Nexus Center will be buzzing with hockey this weekend, as the 2026 Long Drink Warrior Classic kicks off on September 24 and concludes on September 27.

The Long Drink Warrior Classic will feature more than 30 Warrior teams from across the United States. According to USA Hockey, to qualify for a Warrior team, a player “must have a discharge under honorable conditions with a minimum of a 10% VA service-connected disability or a Purple Heart, along with the ability to provide official documentation from their designated branch of service.

One of the teams coming to Utica already has a connection to Central New York. The New Jersey Warriors visited Barry Shelley’s Rink of Dreams in Cooperstown on February 18, 2023. Later that night, they were honored at a Utica Comets game.
