Our final week of the Sport Shootout is tomorrow evening! Our point leader heading into this week is Owen Strazdas and he has decided we are bowling on the 2025 US Open #3 pattern!

Dear Lincoln Bowlers and 48 Bowl Customers,

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of one of 48 Bowl's founders, Bob Davis.

Bob retired two and a half years ago after dedicating nearly his entire life to the bowling community in Lincoln. Alongside Earl Kaup and Bill Hoppe, he founded 48 Bowl (Hollywood Bowl and Parkway Lanes) in 2001. Together, these three gentlemen brought an extraordinary combination of bowling knowledge, skill, and experience. Their vision, sacrifice, determination, and passion helped grow the sport and keep bowling thriving in our community.

Bob also raised a remarkable family who have continued his commitment to bowling in Lincoln. His daughter, Jennifer Davis-Korn, has been part of the bowling centers her entire life and is now the driving force behind many of our day-to-day operations. Her husband, Jason Korn, serves as our General Manager, overseeing all business operations. Their son, Grover Korn, also works at the bowling centers while pursuing his professional career. Bob's wife, Lisa Davis, and his daughter, Ashley Debrick, have likewise been lifelong members of the 48 Bowl family.

On a personal note, Bob hired me when I was 18 years old to empty ashtrays for $5 an hour. He was always an inspiration, encouraging me to work harder, think bigger, and never accept "no" as the final answer. At the same time, he was never afraid to point out when something simply didn't make sense. Without Bob and the other founders believing in me, my life's path would have been completely different. I am incredibly grateful to be part of Lincoln's bowling community because of them.

Today, 48 Bowl includes four bowling centers with a total of 70 lanes: Hollywood Bowl (24), Parkway Lanes (24), Starline Lanes in Carroll, Iowa (18), and Lake Lanes in Wall Lake, Iowa (4). We remain committed to providing the clean, friendly, hometown atmosphere that Bob valued so deeply. Operating and maintaining bowling centers is never easy, and your continued support makes it possible.
Thank you for supporting bowling in Lincoln and Iowa for more than 70 years with us. Your loyalty and enthusiasm have helped make this community truly special.

On behalf of Bob's family and everyone at 48 Bowl, thank you for being part of this journey. We appreciate each and every one of you.
