One of the most common things we see in a bridge is the hips lifting so high that the movement starts coming from the lower back instead of the hips.
Here’s what to focus on instead:
→ Keep your ribs connected to your pelvis rather than letting them flare open.
→ Lift through your hips, allowing them to extend without over-arching your lower back.
→ Think about creating length through the front of your hips rather than pushing your belly toward the ceiling.
Your glutes are responsible for hip extension, but when we chase height instead of control, we can end up relying more on our lower back.
The goal isn’t to make the bridge bigger. It’s to make the movement more intentional.
Next time you bridge, pay attention to where you feel the work. A little awareness can change how an exercise feels!
