Wall Of Fame Coasts in Kentucky Championship Series

LEXINGTON, Ky.— The Walner-Saadet filly Wall Of Fame upped her unbeaten record to six with a 1:52.4 stroll in the $80,000 Kentucky Championship Series third preliminary for 2-year-old trotting fillies on Wednesday afternoon (Aug. 26) at The Red Mile.

Sent the 1-9 favorite, Wall Of Fame brushed towards the top through a :30.2 first quarter to grab control from Heart Of Secret (driven by Yannick Gingras) in the backstretch. Wall Of Fame strode past a :58.2 half and gradually accelerated into the final half. She clocked three-quarters in 1:26.3 and hustled for the finish while peeling 6-1/2 lengths clear of Heart Of Secret to win in hand. Fleur Delacour (Dexter Dunn) gave chase in third with Sweetest Of All (Scott Zeron) fourth and Maga Aintgongreen (Marvin Luna), who broke stride at the quarter, checking in last.

Julie Miller trains Wall Of Fame, a $60,000 purchase at the 2025 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, for owners Andy Miller Stable Inc., Jean Goehlen, Hutchison Harness LLC and Rick Huffman. She’s now banked $230,000 in her career and paid $2.18 to win.

Wednesday’s 15-race card also featured three $30,000 divisions of the Kentucky Commonwealth Series for 2-year-old trotting fillies. After the first division was declared a no contest when the wings of the starting gate failed to close at the beginning of the race, Hanna Hill (Andy McCarthy, 1:55.2 winning mile; $6.16 to win) rallied from a stalking trip to land a nose blow on first-up A Tale Of Kemp (Marvin Luna) to win the second division. Sabia (Scott Zeron, 1:54.4; $3.92) won in the following division when popping from a pocket trip to score by two lengths over Luxe Lindy (Andy Miller) and tempo-setter Jot It Down (Dexter Dunn). Petter Engblom trains Hanna Hill, a Gimpanzee filly out of stakes-winner Caprice Hill, and Marcus Melander trains Sabia, a daughter of Gimpanzee-Bellareina Dolce.

Live harness racing at The Red Mile resumes Sunday (Aug. 30) with a 16-race card headlined by the $80,000 Kentucky Championship Series third preliminary for 3-year-old trotting fillies. Sunday will also feature the $80,000 Kentucky Championship Series third preliminary for 3-year-old pacing males as a non-wagering race before the pari-mutuel card. First-race post time is 5:05 p.m. (EDT).

Goodwalkspoiled Upsets in Kentucky Championship Series

LEXINGTON, Ky.— Pebble Beach filly Goodwalkspoiled played the role of spoiler when she converted a pocket ride off fast fractions in an attritional stretch drive to score a 1:51 victory in the $80,000 Kentucky Championship Series third preliminary for 2-year-old pacing fillies on Tuesday afternoon (Aug. 25) at The Red Mile.

Driver Kyle Husted pushed from the pylon post with Goodwalkspoiled to take the lead into a :27.1 first quarter, but relinquished control up the backstretch as 9-5 favorite My Taylors Swift (driven by Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) marched out of fourth to snag the top. My Taylors Swift cleared command to a :53.4 half and rolled steadily through the last turn to clock three-quarters in 1:21.4, at which point Jk Simcha (Yannick Gingras) loomed first up on the rim and prompted Husted to angle from the pocket for the stretch drive. Goodwalkspoiled set her sights on My Taylors Swift and dug into that weary leader as they drifted through the stretch in an eight-wide charge to the line. Husted successfully landed the winning blow in the final strides to edge to a half-length victory over My Taylors Swift while 42-1 shot Carly Shay (Scott Zeron) weaved through traffic to zip up an inside seam for third and Jk Simcha stayed on in fourth.

Amy Husted trains Goodwalkspoiled, a filly out of the Shadow Play mare Play Nice, for owners Husted Racing LLC and John Schwarz Jr. The filly, a $27,000 purchase as a yearling at the 2025 Midwest Standardbred Sale, collected her third win from four starts and has now banked $70,000 in her career. She paid $34.72 to win.

The Red Mile also hosted $35,000 divisions of Kentucky Sire Stakes for trotting 4-year-olds of each s*x. R Dutchess (Tim Tetrick) swept to the lead past a :28.4 first quarter and cut a quick clip of :55.2 and 1:22.3 to notch a lifetime-best 1:50.2 win over pocket-chaser Winnpanzee (Yannick Gingras) in the dash for trotting mares. Gimpanzee Dancer (Andy McCarthy) won the division for trotting males after following tempo-setter Whiskey Wow (Todd McCarthy) through splits of :28, :55 and 1:23.1 to pounce and roll under wraps for a 1:50.4 win by three lengths. John Butenschoen trains R Dutchess, a mare by Father Patrick-The Ice Dutchess with 10 wins from 38 starts and $671,070 earned, for lessees M&L of Delaware and Armitage Farm. Chris Beaver conditions Gimpanzee Dancer, a Gimpanzee-Weslynn Dancer stallion with 14 wins from 43 starts and $654,467 earned, and co-owns him with Carolina Ortiz Acosta and Derek Ivany. Both won as the odds-on favorite in their respective divisions with R Dutchess paying $3.32 to win and Gimpanzee Dancer returning $2.80.

Haven (Andy McCarthy, 1:51.3 winning mile; $33.06 to win) topped the pair of $30,000 Kentucky Commonwealth Series divisions when she ground uncovered after leader Sister Girl Blues (Dexter Dunn) in the last turn and then held off pocket-rallying Sweet As Silk (Todd McCarthy) to win by a neck. Lindy Believer (Yannick Gingras, 1:51.4; $28.36) ripped from a second-over trip to upset in the other division by a half length, collaring pacesetter Holy (Dexter Dunn) at the line with first-up Ryan Station (Atlee Bender) giving chase in third.

Noah Stanley of Buckinghamshire, England scored his first U.S. training win during the Tuesday card at The Red Mile. Stanley sent Whispering Angel, driven by his son Noah Stanley Jr., to the track and scored a 1:55.1 victory bolting from last to first over the top of the field. The win was also the first stateside this year for Stanley Jr., who debuted in America at Oak Grove in 2025 and won a total of three races from 13 drives before heading back to England.

Presidente Sails; Odds On Chesapeake Equals Track Record in Kentucky Sire Stakes

LEXINGTON, Ky.— Presidente delivered on a 3-2 promise in the $80,000 Kentucky Championship Series third preliminary for 2-year-old trotting c**ts and geldings on Monday (Aug. 24) at The Red Mile, a day that also saw a track record equaled in a non-wagering race before the pari-mutuel card.

In the Monday feature, Presidente (driven by Scott Zeron) seized a brief lead to a :28.4 first quarter before being shuffled to third by Captain Kenny J (Todd McCarthy) and Carbon Fiber (Yannick Gingras), the latter of whom planted onto the point just past a :56.2 half. Zeron lifted his charge from the pylons rounding the last turn and marched to overtake Carbon Fiber by three-quarters in 1:24.4 before muscling down the stretch to win by 4-1/2 lengths. Command Center (Dexter Dunn) rallied from a third-over trip to snag second from Whateverittakes As (Tony Hall), who followed the winner from a second-over seat but settled for third. Captain Kenny J held fourth.

Nancy Takter trains Presidente, a c**t by Walner-Grandma’s Moni, for owners Black Horse Racing, Moni Maker Stable, Pryde Stables Inc. and Mr. Erik Anderberg. The c**t broke his maiden with the win, which came in the fifth start of his career, and boosted his earnings to $69,900. He paid $5.02 to win.

Odds On Chesapeake (Todd McCarthy) converted from a pocket trip off fast fractions to equal the track record for 4-year-old and aged pacing mares with a 1:47.3 win in the $35,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes second leg for her cohort, which was contested as a non-betting race early in the day. McCarthy secured a golden tow behind pacesetter Three Times Bettor (Dexter Dunn), who rolled through a clip of :26.3, :54.1 and 1:21.3 before coming under pressure in the stretch sprint. Odds On Chesapeake reached for the finish in the closing strides to nail Three Times Bettor at the beam by a neck while Champagne Room (Yannick Gingras) gave chase to the inside in third and Caviart Delight (David Miller) levelled off in fourth.

Virgil Morgan Jr. trains Odds On Chesapeake, a mare by Downbytheseaside-Macaroon, for owner Odds On Racing. Her 1:47.3 mile, a lifetime best as well as her 17th win from 41 starts, equaled the track record for 4-year-old pacing mares set by Sylvia Hanover in October of 2024 and the mark for older pacing mares set by Twin B Joe Fresh in October of 2025. She’s now earned $793,555 in her career.

Captain Arturovico (Dexter Dunn) coasted to a pillar-to-post victory in the lone $35,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes division for 4-year-old pacing males. Dunn put the Ron Burke pupil on the lead to a :27.3 first quarter and sneaked modest fractions of :56 and 1:23.3 to then sustain in a :25.4 kick for the finish to win by a length in a 1:49.2 mile over Damn The Torpedoes (Tim Tetrick), who pulled from a pocket trip in the stretch but gave chase in second. Whelk Blue Chip (Josh Sutton) gave pursuit down the center of the track for third with Somelousomewhere (Scott Zeron) finishing fourth and Handsome Stranger (Andy McCarthy) last of the quintet.

A 4-year-old gelding by Captaintreacherous-Tilikum, Captain Arturovico has now won seven races from 16 starts this season and his 19th race from 46 starts in his career, good for $586,819 in earnings. He competes for owners Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, Larry Karr and Phil Collura. Sent the odds-on favorite, he paid $2.14 to win.

Monday’s card also featured a pair of $30,000 Kentucky Commonwealth Series divisions for 2-year-old trotting males. Point Blank (David Miller, 1:54 winning mile; $3.50 to win) ripped late from a pocket trip to collar tempo-setter Gustav Vasa (Marcus Melander) to win the faster of the two divisions while End Result (Dexter Dunn, 1:54.2; $12.04) rallied from a second-over trip and held on for a neck win over closing Marino (Todd McCarthy) to give trainer Marcus Melander one of his three wins on the day. Melander also won a pair of $15,000 Kentucky Golden Rod divisions with Gagosian (Dexter Dunn, 1:54.4; $5.38) and Kaws (Scott Zeron, 1:56; $6.02).

Rumble And Sway Rallies for Kentucky Championship Series Win

LEXINGTON, Ky.— Rumble And Sway uncorked a menacing bid off a helmet to collar his rivals for a 1:51.1 victory in the $80,000 Kentucky Championship Series third preliminary for 2-year-old pacing c**ts and geldings on Sunday night (Aug. 23) at The Red Mile.

Leaving from post 2, driver Scott Zeron took back to fourth with Rumble And Sway while 6-5 favorite Seine (driven by David Miller) pushed to lead the quintet by the quarter in :28. Seine cruised to a :56.1 half but soon faced a first-up challenge from 7-5 shot Gobstopper (Tim Tetrick) to the last turn with Zeron perching Rumble And Sway onto cover second-over. Gobstopper marched to match strides with Seine by three-quarters in 1:24.3 and edged to a narrow lead in the stretch while Zeron swung Rumble And Sway three wide. Once straightening, Rumble And Sway built steam and swept over the top of the competition to pull away for a 1-1/4-length win with Gobstopper holding second. Midwind Buxton (Todd McCarthy) skimmed the pylons for third and Seine tired to fourth.

Brett Pelling trains Rumble And Sway, a gelding by Sweet Lou-Apple Of My Pie, for owners Pelling Racing LLC, David Van Dusen, Canamerica Capital Corp and Pryde & Wienick Racing. The gelding, who debuted with a win in the Golden Rod Series and then stepped up for a runner-up finish in the Commonwealth Series, collected his second win from three starts and has now banked $55,000. He paid $8.04 to win.

Sunday’s 14-race card also featured a pair of $30,000 Kentucky Commonwealth Series divisions for 2-year-old pacing males. The faster division, a 1:50.2 mile, went the way of a dead-heat between Night Agent (Andy McCarthy), who brushed to set the pace past the quarter, and pocket-popping Just Perfect Stuff (Joey Putnam). Dog Dare You (Dexter Dunn) pushed first up through the last turn but chased in third, beaten 4-1/4 lengths. Joe Holloway trains Night Agent, a Captaintreacherous c**t out of world champion Shebestingin, and Joe Putnam trains Just Perfect Stuff, a Perfect Sting gelding out of the Art Major mare Sand Artist. Night Agent paid $2.10 to win and Just Perfect Stuff returned $3.42. Blazin Lou (Tim Tetrick) won the other Kentucky Commonwealth Series division with a front-stepping 1:51.1 effort and paid $4.14 to win.

Undefeated Wall Of Fame Eyes Another Win in Kentucky Championship Series

LEXINGTON, Ky.— Another busy week of Kentucky bred action at The Red Mile attracts top-class talent into the Bluegrass State including the Walner filly Wall Of Fame, who will put her unbeaten streak on the line as the 4-5 favorite in the $80,000 Kentucky Championship Series third preliminary for 2-year-old trotting fillies on Wednesday afternoon (Aug. 26).

Wall Of Fame leads the quintet competing in Wednesday’s feature, carded as Race 6, and lands the pylon post following a 1:52.2 victory in the second preliminary a week ago. Andy Miller drives the Julie Miller trainee, with nearly $200,000 banked already in her short career, against three of the four foes she trounced in the second leg: runner-up Heart Of Secret (driven by Yannick Gingras, post 2, 5-2 morning line), third-place finisher Fleur Delacour (Dexter Dunn, post 4, 6-1) and fourth-place finisher Sweetest Of All (Scott Zeron, post 5, 8-1).

The race week begins on Sunday night (Aug. 23) with a 14-race card headlined by the $80,000 third preliminary of the Kentucky Championship Series for 2-year-old pacing c**ts and geldings. Gobstopper (Tim Tetrick, post 5, 7-2), winner of the series’ first preliminary, looks to return to the winner’s circle following a fourth-place rally in the most recent leg, but will have to topple a group of five including second-prelim runner-up Seine (David Miller, post 4, 5-2), who is the morning line favorite, and second-prelim third-place finisher Blue Eyed Stranger (Yannick Gingras, post 6, 9-2).

Freshman trotting males fight in the highlight event of the Monday (Aug. 24) card, the $80,000 third preliminary of their Kentucky Championship Series. Marcus Melander pupil Command Center (Dexter Dunn, post 5, 2-1), a half-brother to 2026 Hambletonian champ Apex, looks for back-to-back wins in the series after staving off Captain Kenny J (Todd McCarthy, post 6, 3-1) in the second leg. Monday’s card also features a pair of $35,000 events of the Kentucky Sire Stakes second preliminary for 4-year-olds with Captain Arturovico (Dexter Dunn, post 3, 6-5) eying back-to-back wins in the series for pacing males and Three Times Bettor (Dexter Dunn, post 1) also looking for a second win in the series for pacing mares, which will be contested as a non-wagering race prior to the pari-mutuel card.

A contentious bunch of freshman pacing fillies renew their rivalry in the $80,000 Kentucky Championship Series third preliminary on Tuesday (Aug. 25). First-leg winner Banana Beach (Andy McCarthy, post 7, 9-2) looks to avenge her third-place finish in the second leg to Seaside Ubeaut (Dexter Dunn, post 8, 5-2) while My Taylors Swift (Ronnie Wrenn Jr., post 5, 7-2), finishing runner-up by a neck in both legs, aims to usurp that pair. She starts just inside of Oak Grove Kentucky Sire Stakes series winner Dame Frances (Atlee Bender, post 6, 6-1), who resurfaces from a defeat as the odds-on favorite in the first leg with a 1:54.2 qualifier at Harrah’s Hoosier Park on Aug. 19.

Tuesday’s card also features a pair of $35,000 second-leg divisions of Kentucky Sire Stakes for trotting 4-year-olds. R Dutchess (Tim Tetrick, post 2, 5-2) fronts the mare division as she ships west from a fifth-place rally in the Grade 2 Dr. John Steele Memorial on Hambletonian Day at The Meadowlands while Gimpanzee Dancer (Andy McCarthy, post 6, 4-5), who finished second in the series’ first leg to Go Dog Go, returns to Kentucky from a defeat in the $60,000 Vincennes Invitational behind world champion Bourbonista S on Hambletonian Day.

Each day of racing at The Red Mile also features $30,000 divisions of the Kentucky Commonwealth Series, $15,000 divisions of the Kentucky Golden Rod Series and $10,000 divisions of the Kentucky Wildcat Series. First-race post time on Sunday is 5:05 p.m. (EDT) and 1 p.m. for the remainder of the race week.
